Information on why the devs didn't include Viera Male/Hrothgar Female

Or Hrothgar, really I don't care which came first.
But it looks to me like they tried to be ballsy, bit off more than they can chew, and then tried to sneak that doublerace doubledip while only doing half (less than half since no hats) of the work of each race, and they thought we'd just eat it up...
Idk, just bad decisions all around.

Yes or why not hrothgar first.

If that is your reasoning on why they are not planning on doing new races after 5.0 then we can give up on the thought of having male viera and female hrothgar too because they have to create the face/body model for them so it would be technically counted as "new race". So the feedback yoshi-p has stated, is that they will listen but they won't do it.

According to Yoshi-P, they had time for 1 new race. But they wanted to add 2 new races. So to compromise, they chose a male and female of each race... and since the lore already supports that Viera males don't leave the forest, that makes it an easy choice.

In the interview, he said they had to chose between a female Hrothgar or a female Viera. They had already decided on making a male Hrothgar.

So it would make sense that eventually they'll add in the missing races... but I don't think it's anywhere near a priority.

I'm glad they said this instead of just hiding behind the lore excuse. This makes sense and I appreciate the honestly, where as trying to use the lore shield just makes me mad because that's BS. I figured something like this was the actual reason for it. And while I would have preferred they just settle on ONE complete race instead of two halves, I do get that they wouldn't have the time for two complete races. I just would have preferred they pick ONE of the two and make both genders than the current situation.

But at least they're being honest about it here and we can put the lore debate to rest.

I figured something like this was the actual reason for it. And while I would have preferred they just settle on ONE complete race instead of two halves, I do get that they wouldn't have the time for two complete races. I just would have preferred they pick ONE of the two and make both genders than the current situation.

the implication is that the other two would never exist.

so the choice is adding two new playable races, or one new playable race. However, its possible that with feedback, they may decide to finish out the hrothgar and the vierra.

basically my interpretation;

based on time/budget/demand they decide only one more male, and one more female for the rest of ffxiv for the forseeable future

they decided to pick a female of one race, and a male of another, probably because conceptually they think hrothgar adds more diversity, but vierra has higher interest.

But Hrothgar was first. It was decided as a new race before the Viera. But they still needed to make the model because of Fran, since the raid content was also already decided by that time. Afterwards they had a debate on adding either female Ronso or female Viera (male Viera was never an option to begin with), and for some reason decided on female Viera.
So even though I would really love to see male Viera, let's clarify that no, Ronso did not take male Viera's place, it was the female Viera that took female Ronso's place, therefor being the reason we have 2 genderlock half races instead of a full one. Resources or not, we all know that the real reason is because waifu material and sexy girls sell. Otherwise we would have seen the Ronso being featured somewhere else. Viera had 3 promo art pictures, a panel dedicated to early concepts of face and ears, inclusion in the oficial CGI trailer and is also featured as the race representing dancer. We know where they are from, they have starter gear that is an homage to the Viera character and are also featured as the additional stuff you get by ordering the Collector's Edition. Ronso... well, Ronso is there.

I find that so sad the thing they HAD decided on is the one they flesh out far less poor Hrothgar/Ronso they deserved better treatment than what they got
