Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Hello Yoshi P and FFXIV Dev Team!!

Please make male Viera a playable race in FFXIV. There seems to be a lot of support for it in the community and I have friends who would like to play the race as well. You would really make a lot of your fans happy. I really appreciate that you have always been willing to listen to us as far as the direction of the game, and I hope you take this request into consideration.

Having one extra skin for your character to RP with on Balmung isn't worth breaking the Viera lore.

Female Viera were confirmed to leave the forest, but they're not supposed to do that either. Why can't males? Are we really supposed to believe that 100%, no exceptions ever, of male Viera don't leave the forest? It has nothing to do with lore and is just plain illogical and statistics breaking. Some male Viera, sometimes, have to have left the forest. Let one of them be your character.
And while we're on that matter, a single male Viera leaving the forest (because as we both agree, other PCs are being ignored), especially to answer the call of Hydaelyn herself to be her Warrior of Light, will not break the lore.

Absolutely have my signature, my excitement for this expansion really took a hit when Male Viera were dropped and Hrothgar came in instead. I'm super happy for the people who wanted a Ronso like race, and I can't wait to see people shouting HORNLESS all the time. But I think it goes without saying that there is a substantial interest in removing ridiculous gender locking in a game this modern. How the community has responded to this has been toxic unfortunately, I myself was extremely upset by the poor optics of this, but I was dreading the nightmare of constant questions likely to be thrown at every panel and highly disappointed of one of my most sought after inclusions to have been pulled out from under me. Its a sour taste and reminds me of the poor community relationship seen with Blizzard.

The canon reasons for this escape me considering the game breaks canon regularly and never seems to shy away from slapstick and ridiculousness elsewhere. Something like male Viera has an actual precedent, people running around with Wind-up Alphas and crossover costumes or mounts and is somehow less damaging to immersion? That's not to decry those things, I myself am looking forward the FFXV crossover and Nier Raid. Nevertheless, I really hope this becomes remembered as a defining moment where Square Enix shows that they care about the community, and can be put on a pedestal years down the road as how you should fix a mistake. A Realm Reborn cast off gender locking after 1.0, it baffles me that they'd go backwards.

When it comes to lore and story XIV functions as a single player game. I see your character is 70, so unless you're the kind of person that skips all dialogue and cutscenes you know this as well.
There's no 2 WoLs in the story, there's you as the WoL and occasionally your anonymous "elite force", which is usually involved in side content not pertinent to the MSQ.
Having Male Viera face against Zenos would be pretty lorebreaking for Viera.

I feel stupid saying this stuff, because it's all very obvious and everyone knows this.

Part of the reason they're so requested in the first place is that their lore makes them interesting.
I understand it's pointless to argue with people having a hissy fit (no offense), but in the offchance that any of this reaches the dev team I think there are some things that needed to be said

Yes, please. I would like Male Viera. Even if they are rare and special, we play as the WoL; by nature we are rare and special. While lore is important, the lore here is not SO tight that it can't allow for Male Viera in the same way we have Duskwights and Male Moonseekers. Please consider Male Viera as an option.

Well clearly the Hrothgar would just wear a helmet or a cowl and mask to hide his beastly appearance!
