So you really love healing, meaning you must love the current healing jobs.

...why not just keep on going on with what you love?

So we can toss the Gunbreaker? The Tanks love their jobs, right? There is no NEED for a new tank. Why bother?

Of course I love healing. But everyone would like to try something new and get to level and have something different to see if it suits them better. That's kind of what the ranged-physical dps are on about, isn't it? Why is this ANY different for the healers? Again, we're told to just 'settle for what you have, wait for them to dust it off and put some varnish on it and be happy'. That's kind of crappy.

It really sucks that healers are not getting anything new. To me, out of all the roles I've played, healers are the most samesie feeling group. Drg, monk, nin, and sam all feel different when I play them same with the tanks. But there is really something in the dna of healers in this game that really doesn't make them feel all that fresh from one another. Maybe its because all healers have more or less the same base skills. We have the aoe heals, the one person heal, and some quick instant cures. Yes, the function a little different in each class but the pattern of healing just doesn't feel that different. Yes, healers have their own gimmicks. But for instance the aoe heals are all more or less (if not the same) in cast time. The only thing that changes is if your shielding or if your regening or neither. And not to mention. We all more or less dps the same way. Sch might have a few more things to toss out but really once shadowflare is down its the same.

Prolly sound like a heretic here, but they need to fix this. I want there to be more healer identity. A fourth class could have fixed this.

A 4th Class doesn't address the issue at hand. Right now Scholar and Astra feel unique between them with unique mechanics. The core problem at hand with healers is in fact White Mage having virtually no real job mechanic. They feel the exact same as Conj just with more skills. It would be like Dragoon without Deep Dive and Eye's of the Dragon. Just different chain rotations, it'd feel like Lancer too much and not different at all.

I think they chose to not add a 4th so that they can change White to be unique.

Is this the end of Ff14 where we don’t get any more expansion? It seems people can not wait for their turn. Dancer being a healer is nonsense. Dancer in FF11 is similar to RDM and RDM now is a pure dps. Just wait for next expansion

Even if a 4th healer was just a carbon copy of another healer. *cough* AST *cough* The job still gets its own content, which includes but not limited to: new job quests, new NPCs, new lore, new abilities, new animations, new AF armor, new glamour options that pertain to the job, new learning experiences, and in the case of tanks - a new mount. With the mention of that last one, I really hope the dev team acknowledges what they are putting healer mains through, and do give us a specific mount as some kind of consolation or something. Just anything to let us know that they acknowledge our woes.

But your post tells me that you are likely not a healer main, and/or are not as invested in the healer role as Miste and the rest of us are. We will never be the poster job for any expansion. We hardly get any MSQ recognition whatsoever. Our expectations in group play are high, and commendations are low in comparison to those expectations. We are the hearts that beat inside the chest of an mmo and it is REALLY easy to feel underappreciated after putting 100% effort into this role.

To put it simply: It just isn't fair.

what you seem to be saying, is as healer main, you want some new toys, like everyone else, even if it isnt that original. You want some new flavors, lore and a reason to level a new job.

in that case the job design isnt as important the content associated with it. I did come up with a new, and i think interesting possible healer job since i posted this, and it has some small background in FF. Chemist, or maybe aetherchemist for ffxiv. It would focus on mixing, and would have a bunch of close to midrange healing abilities and support. running around the field like a medic, and throwing heals at times.

however, maybe thats too complicated and outside of how they want combat to play out.

While I like the idea of a new tank, if they didn't add one I wouldn't be heartbroken or distraught or aghast, or whatever adjective you wish to describe the salt that is going around.

Despite the Part, that I am a really horrible Healer and because of that never played Healer outside of leveling them, I still feel bad for all the Healers who hoped for a new Healer Class.
2 more Years without any new Class to play with more and more DPS Jobs being added. I can understand how forgotten they can feel.

Well you are correct that people are acting like children over some of this new info we got. So I'll give you that.
