The FFXIV community was always like that. You're just seeing the mask slip.I wish Blizzard would make WOW decent again, so all the former WOW players here can take their entitled, toxic selfcentered self back to Azeroth. I quit WOW years ago mainly as that game community became more and more unfriendly, and I feel XIV community is becoming the same as I saw in WOW :/

Are some players entitled? Sure, I agree. But anyone who's mad about not getting a healer again when if I remember rightly Yoshi said for Stormblood that healers and tanks would get love for the next expansion (aka ShB), for tanks to get love but not healers being entitled? That I disagree with. I actually heal end-game 8/24 man duties. I was looking to build a static. A lot of people are OK with DNC being DPS, but the sting is that no new healer was added whatsoever. Now if this Gaia turns out to be a healer (added in ShB) then great, I'll be OK with that. But as it stands, I'm unhappy because for 2 expansions straight now I've not got a new healer. As has been mentioned previously, AST is just demiWHM/demiSCH with cards thrown in. I think a lot of us just want something new. Like we're happy for tanks with Gunblade and ranged DPS with Dancer, but we would like some love too.
White Mage ~ Sage ~ AstrologianBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
So because a new healer isnt coming that makes the new expansion unplayable for healer mains. Gotcha. Man I just left WoW to come back to Eorzea but I'll be damned if the forum crying isnt as petty and childish here as it is there lmao. Arguably worse, looking at you "genderlocked" threads.

I dare you to go into the lore forum in JP language and see how wrong you are.Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Japanese playerbase are completely and utterly ambivalent. In fact, only on English speaking forums does this seem to be blowing up.
You don't speak for the majority of players and even if you did, SE do well not to bow to your whim and continue to design their game in their way. As has been noted, WOW and other MMOs went into serious decline the second they started compromising on their ideals, and stretching themselves too thin, in a vain attempt to try to give the noisy players "what they want".

Thats because a majority of the players especially new ones will always choose a dps class until they get comfortable playing the game and learn more about it then they might branch out.

I think the healer outcry is probably over-represented, but I doubt more than a couple thousand people are out there who are both happy that Hrothgar exist while also simultaneously not being mad they are genderlocking again like complete imbeciles. Which is the only conceivable served market that might be remaining silent.Well part of what made WoW basically flush itself down the toilet was Blizzard catering to the noisy players crying over things. Basically they got what they asked for and didn't want to stew in it.
One of the issues is that the noisy complainers usually assume they're a majority on something because they are noisy and the people that are either content or just don't care aren't on here like they are blowing up forums with posts.
. . . WoW went to shit because of class design, gear progression, and overall unneeded gameplay changes. . not because they gender-locked races (which they've never done btw). I find it really interesting how you think asking for the fundamentals to new races (i.e both genders) is the community trying to make SE 'bow to our whims'. Stop trying to defend a terrible design decision, you don't have to be SE's personal bootlicker.Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Japanese playerbase are completely and utterly ambivalent. You would be surprised how many people really don't care about these big 3 "pressing issues" after the fan fest announcements and are just looking forward to Shadowbringers. Many of them probably pop on here just to read the threads started by the ones complaining for personal entertainment.I think the healer outcry is probably over-represented, but I doubt more than a couple thousand people are out there who are both happy that Hrothgar exist while also simultaneously not being mad they are genderlocking again like complete imbeciles. I expected Dancer to be a healer, but the fact it's not doesn't affect me. I expected male Viera to be announced, instead we got Hrothgar... ok. I don't agree with that decision because I'm not a fan of single-gender races but it also doesn't matter to me since I'm quite happy with the character I have right now and wasn't planning to race change in any event.
I'm playing FFXIV quite satisfactorily right now. So the addition of new stuff is cool, but just because it wasn't what I expected it to be doesn't really change anything for me at all. I enjoy healing and dps. I quite like AST's gameplay, and SCH has grown on me over the course of Stormblood as well (didn't care for it in HW, couldn't tell you why). I play SAM, NIN, BRD, and RDM on the dps side quite regularly. DNC looks cool, I'm looking forward to trying it out, but I didn't have any plans to main it even when I thought it was probably a healer, and I still don't now. I'll play it, but the fact its a dps doesn't affect me.
What I'm trying to say with all of this really is: what's the big deal? If you're having fun in Stormblood, why does it even matter what jobs/races get added in Shadowbringers? You're either interested in the new additions or you aren't, but literally nothing else changes here. Your class isn't being deleted. Your race isn't being deleted. You'll get adjustments, you'll get new abilities, you'll probably lose some existing abilities as they prune things.. that'll happen to everyone. And then you'll play Shadowbringers. The story will be great, the cutscenes will be great, the dungeons will be really hard for about a week, and then in a month we'll start Eden. Was being a male Viera really a crucial part of any of that?
