Well, as victim of both Fallout* and Anthem (out of this list), it'd be nice if they'd get shit together.
*Especially since I got Collectors that included trash bag instead.
But I'm completely fine without male Viera - so all I can do is wish luck on your journey.
+1 on this as well. As someone who planned from the start to be female Viera, having my friends not be able to play what they wanted is bittersweet.
I feel extra bad for the people looking forward to Fem Hrothgar during all the speculation only to have it crushed on stage with a smile.
Idk if any amount of customization makes that worth it when the most important to most people is playing the gender they want to.
Do some surveys at least, please. Most probably would prefer the models being similar so they can have svelte bunny boys and buff cat girls.
I'm confused why we're getting gender-locked races in FFXIV, especially when it was an issue they have already addressed.
I expected more from Square Enix so it's very disappointing to see this happen. I hope they try harder for their fans in the future, because this isn't okay.
Yup, adding my support in removing genderlock races.
Even if you don't want to play them, more options in a MMORPG is generally a good thing!
I feel like SE dug themselves into a hole with their reveal of Hrothgar. Cause now people (myself included) are just going to badger them until we unlock both of them. At the very least, they could've of flat out said No when asked about male Viera, instead of just playing coy.
SE has only themselves to blame for any blow back they may receive.
signed for it, even tho it‘s going to take more than 2 years implementing them (6.0 if not probably 7.0) :c well a reaction from se side about this topic would be more than welcomed :/
gender locks bad.
One of the main reasons I liked ffxiv was the near equal variety of options for how male and female characters were able to present themselves compared to most other MMOs. The lack of male Viera and female Hrothgar negates that completely - how many other games (especially MMOs) have there been where male characters are the only ones who can present as monstrous and dangerous and female characters are the only ones who can present as cute or sexual? Taking away the player's feeling of choices when it comes to expressing themselves is never a good design decision, especially when it's one of the features that sets it apart. I imagine it's not possible right now, but I really hope they choose to add them in a future patch or expansion.
Looking forward to Male Vieras someday.
