I dont get on the fourms... like EVER and I've played this game since 1.0 ( original account was lost) we dont want this mess. Weve been politely telling you guys what we want ( some arguably not so polite) and this feels like a negligent parent who is pretending to listen but doesnt care what the child is saying. Please for the love of the crystal do whatever you have to to fix this. I imagine higher ups are breathing down your neck but we assure you doing this will ease the fire under your bums.

I can think of no better place than the official forums, aside from in person at a fan festival, to make this request

I don't know if voicing opinions on other game sites and reddit is as effective as coming onto these forums and liking the original post. Our best option is to keep this thread alive and have people like the original post

Delay your sh*t and get it right the first time. There is no excuses anymore. Fallout 76, Anthem, Red Dead 2 online. Unfinished dumpster fires. if it's not done DONT RELEASE IT. Take the extra time, and finish that sh*t. Nintendo does it, and you know what? They have not lost customers over it. People are WILLING TO WAIT for good games, finished games, good content. Stop giving excuses for bad development choices. Yes, it sucks to wait, but it sucks more to pay for half-finished garbage, and don't you dare tell me that two half-finished races isn't garbage. It IS garbage. They're not 'races' at this point, they're genders. Two genders of what might have been races, had they been completed.

If 5.2 gives me male Viera (and female Hrothgar), I won't mind the wait (edit: ok, that was a lie, I WILL mind it but getting it would ease it, somewhat), as long as we know they're coming.

Registered to add my +1 to the topic. Those of us who like playing as male characters are obviously an afterthought because of the sheer number of those who play waifu characters and now we get a hideous low resolution furry roe that doesn't even look like it has actual fur but more of a pixelated skin disease.

Finally finished setting up my forum account to add my support to this. This was just a really regressive decision on behalf of the devs. As a foreign player I honestly don’t have faith that our input is ever considered on stuff like this, but I hope the message is at least conveyed that we hope they’ll reconsider.

Lore exists to ENHANCE the enjoyment a player gets out of a game. It’s there to facilitate bringing the world to life and our characters to life within it. When your lore becomes restrictive to the point that it hinders the players ability to harmlessly enjoy the game in the manner of their choosing, it stops being fun and starts feeling needlessly punitive.

This was something the devs acknowledged and embraced back when 2.0 launched, but it feels like they’ve forgotten the ethos for the decision they made back then to scrap gender-locked races. I’m frustrated by this development, but more than anything I’m saddened that I anticipated exactly this outcome so I can’t even say that I’m hurt or surprised, as it matches a lot of weird gender-locked decisions they’ve made as of late.

I’ve lost a lot of faith that the team is willing to hear us out - lately it feels like Yoshida is treating fan feedback as more of a nuisance than a necessity - so I’m not sure this will accomplish anything. But I’d feel even more frustrated if I didn’t say anything, so I guess I’ve got nothing to lose.

Overall kinda funny how getting that outfit was apparently such big deal, and then I've maybe seen one player using one.

I see it often around aether, and most of the time on guys rather than ladies.

But yeah, they're going to be badgered by it. A lot. I'm going to see if there's any way to leave direct feedback to SE while I'm in Tokyo. Something like, go to their cafe, 5* the food, then in the comments "please give male Viera and female Hroth. Also the waiter was superb, great service"
Because not only did they disappoint everyone yes hoping for male Viera, they now created, with their own hands, another crowd that will not be satisfied - the lady Hroth wanting crowd.
