Registered just to plus one this. I wanted a tough tall lady not another member of eyecandy race.

I didn't know I wanted male Viera until I saw their official art on the concept!
While they're at it, it'd be great to get the Butler and Maid outfits gender unlocked! It'd be super cool to see both M!Viera and F!Viera in those Butler outfits!
Ungenderlock the new races. FFXIV made this same mistake in 1.0, it's frankly embarrassing to have this happen again in 2019. Limiting player choice is a godawful idea, and the fact that we now will have a Big Buff Male Beast Race and Sex Doll Animal Ear Female Race at the same time is even worse, since the devs seemingly can't be happy with an effeminate male race and a beast like female race. I can't believe that this kind of homophobic and sexist garbage is going to be in one of the biggest MMOs on the market.
I know it's probably too late in the cycle to address this by 5.0 launch but I think it would be a great service to its fans if Squeenix listened and made the push to include both male Viera and female Hrothgar in a future patch. This does double the amount of work needed for future glamour model creation but it doesn't feel right to have two half races instead of one full race. But since there are two halves already, complete them and give players more options to realize themselves in game.
Unlock implies there is a switch they can flip and suddenly the secret content they were hiding due to their nasty sexism will become available instead of a year or more of dev time to actually create it. Additionally, sexism can be argued but homophobia is solely on anyone's own projections onto the avatars and the devs trying to cater to something that nebulous would never work. There is a conversation here but buzzwords and grandstanding will make sure we never have it.Ungenderlock the new races. Definitely very upset that Male Viera and Female Ronso were excluded. I was personally drawn to this game because there was no genderlocked races, and to see it happening now after what happened in regards to 1.0 with Miqo'te and Roe seems like a repeat of a past mistake, and just feels very silly.
Hope to see this corrected sometime in the future.

Maybe lazily sexist, but I don't get where the homophobia is coming from. FFXIV is probably the most homo-friendly mainstream MMOs. Not adding a male race doesn't make them suddenly hate queers.

But yeah, this seems... slightly sexist? Why can't i be a bunny boy? Why can't girls be leopards or tigers or w/e?
I support making Viera and Ronso both as non-gender locked races. They made male Miqos among other changes for 2.0 despite lore so they can do so again. This simply comes across to me as a lack of resources for this expansion that I hope they rectify in the future. Please SE, I need to see bunny boys in my life! <3
