I'm really interested in your PC specs, tbh.So what I'm saying is... ITS NOT THE STEAM LAUNCHER THAT CAUSED THE GAME TO PERFORM AWFULLY. Its the steam version of FFXIV itself (FFXIV Steam Client). So yeah. Idk if its related to steam or not or like if Steam has powers to change how the FXXIV steam client is running but SE needs to figure this out :/ I get like -15-20 less fps running the steam version of FFXIV in general and cant load Mor Dhona at all.
Same, that sounds more like a support thread issue than steam, since if you're not using the steam launcher, you're just connecting directly. Post in the support thread and put your specs / pc diag in for people to see what's going on. 3rd party apps/mods etc.
Ignore it lol, they're not reading the thread anyways, and that's a throwaway account given 1st post, they're not willing to post from their main, which says enough.

And your point being... Given how the authentication works with ESO and how things regularly go down, why wouldn't people want a way to escape? Notice how many of us are even willing to REBUY THE GAME AND EXPANSIONS, but we can't without losing our current characters. Tell us again how that's our fault. Yeah, we can accept buying from Steam was a mistake, but how is it our fault that SE refuse to let us put this right without starting with an entire new account (thus losing all our character progress, pre-order bonuses, event items like Yo-Kai that we absolutely cannot get back, etc). All we're asking for is a way to access the game without having to start over. Even if that means rebuying the game and giving SE more money.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
It was postponed till April or later due to a bug that was discovered. Yall can calm down for the time being now.
I would argue with a postponing we should still keep the issue present in hopes before the implementation they can explain a little more in detail to hopefully quell the fears of it needing to be connected to Steam authentication the whole time like ESO did. I also hope it would give them time to seriously think about separating the Windows and Steam versions like ESO did for players who no longer want to be trapped by the steam version after said changes.
Player
Consider me signed. I have the option of playing this on PS4 if things go south, but my spouse and best friend do not. Neither should we and he have to buy a PS4 or another copy off of the SE Store in order to play, which they couldn't even do on their accounts and characters which they already put so much time into, if they both bought PC version.
Postponement is good, but it is not a long term solution if what happened with ESO is any indication of what is to come.
At the very least, if we can add mac and ps4 to the account, then let us include the non steam version to our accounts too SE. At the very, very least.
