I wouldn't bet on it for the same reasons its never coming to the Xbox. SE won't publish to a system that require a fee for the game + internet access.

Who all is familiar with the FFXI Meme "lolPS2 Limitations" ?
PS3 was already cut as it was limiting the game. Windows 32x is being cut as it is limiting the game.
LolSwitch Limitations. It will be cut as it would limit the game in terms of not just graphical fidelity, but also memory limitations as well as a host of other issues. While it is a neat console, it's not optimized for an MMO. Nintendo has historically been terrible to work with for online connectivity. They're only now with the Switch starting to get things right, and there's still a long way to go.
I'm sorry but your reply was all over the place and had less to do with the subject at hand and more about what you think of me and how innocent you are rather than the topic, if you're going to continue derailing the subject of the thread I'm sorry but I won't feed you. Continue discussing the subject itself with the other members of the forum.Actually, that comment would be more fitting for you since you keep rehashing the same, tired, old line that the Switch would be possible simply because Yoshi was in talks about doing it and running that as a 100% certainty when it's not while ignoring mostly what everyone else has been saying and that it just wouldn't technically be there as the main reasoning among other estimates.
You're not being logical, you're just being hopeful and wishful thinking because you want something that has been proven to not technically work, and you don't want to hear that from others. You're also using your opinion as an excuse to be extremely rude and condescending towards someone else that doesn't share the same opinion as you when I haven't done either of those things to you in response so far. The world doesn't revolve around what you want on the forums either, maybe you're the one who needs to learn that life lesson and not respond poorly when someone tells you "no."
Ironically, you left out the part of her last post where she was discussing the subject itself with 2 other members of the forum.I'm sorry but your reply was all over the place and had less to do with the subject at hand and more about what you think of me and how innocent you are rather than the topic, if you're going to continue derailing the subject of the thread I'm sorry but I won't feed you. Not only that, but you're the one who initially attacked her and derailed the thread over hurt feelings because of her opinion (post# 385). So now because you have no further arguments, or are tired of arguing, she's the one derailing the subject?
The truth of the matter is, this is a forum for all players to enter and leave the conversations, she wasn't having the conversation in a private chat that I'm not supposed to join the conversation in the thread and everyone can enter or leave the discussion as they wish, so asking her for the reasons as to why she hates something like Mario easter eggs in the game and why she does not mind having Yokai Watch, does not mean that she should get over-sensitive and turn around with:Ironically, you left out the part of her last post where she was discussing the subject itself with 2 other members of the forum.

I simply sarcastically suggested that if she hates Nintendo easter eggs in FFXIV that much then what about Yokai Watch, which by the way, is also a very much Nintendo dedicated Pokemon-like franchise. But she had to turn around and claim that I get upset every time someone disagrees with a Switch port of the game when she does not even know me.....Do you get upset every time someone has opinions regarding that porting over XIV to the Switch may not be a smart move with possible implications or are you blinded by rose colored glasses simply because of something you want as evident by your signature. I mean, you couldn't make it more obvious even if you tried.
...
This is not an echo chamber for your thoughts only and if you can't bring anything else towards the conversation besides snarky, peanut gallery commentary...then maybe the discussion is not for you. Nothing I said was rude, but you sure are being it right now.
Sorry but sometimes things are not the way we want them to be so I had to remind her that, yet still she came back as if I am the one insisting on a Switch port when all that I did was show that I don't mind having it on the console. Not minding does not mean insisting. It can be seen from the explanations on my previous posts.
And by the way, you yourself have come into a conversation you were not part of, it was between 2 members of the forum, yet you had the liberty to. Do you understand how a forum works now?
*blinks and decides to check the forum*
I'm the over-sensitive one? When I have since dropped the conversation because it's no longer in my interest to converse with someone who's extremely full of themselves and despite claiming that they don't have time to feed into the conversation, they continue to drag it out by their own merit any time that they're met with criticism? Yet, I'm the over-sensitive one?
I've been playing other games all day long, wooooow, lol.
Either way, as I have said earlier, if Yoshi and his team see that it's what they want to do then I'm up for it, and if they see that it will sacrifice things towards a destination where they don't wish the game is to be going towards and won't be successful then I'm fine with it.
It may go either ways, as I said, but I still assume that the team are the most knowledgeable in what they want for the game and at the end of the day, while I support the game through my own money, it still is their game and I prefer developers have the liberty in the choices they make for their games. If someone suddenly doesn't like a choice or choices they made to a point where it has made the game unplayable, they're free to stop supporting the game and continue with their life. It's an MMORPG and the choices are made for several types of audiences.

Reviving this thread out of boredom...
Right now FF14 team would need to wait for a more powerful Nintendo Switch console to be released for it to work and not have PS3 and 32bit limitations to be a thing again...
Mostly a wait and see approach...
NO. let the kids stick to their fortnites and switches.
If they did ever port to the Switch they would lose me as a customer for the simple fact I wouldn't want to have to deal with
.Switch Limitations
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
