That sucks.
Hopefully if/when they do implement item restoration they can obviously see you have the achievement and can restore it for you.

I'm surprised they didn't say something like "Sorry, we can't give you back your item for the moment because of the complexity and awfulness of the current servers ! Wait till 2.0"
I'm very sorry for you though. And the fact they can't restore an item like this (there's no need to check logs or whatever to see if you indeed had the crow or not, just a quick look at the jobs will do the trick and i guess the crown sells for 1 gil or something like that so it's not like you would make any profit out of it). I think that because of the servers issues those kind of mistakse happens a lot. It happened to me before at least, but for random trash so it was fine. And SE's GM could, for once, do a little something about it.

GMs are powerless jokes, they only exist to to tell people to go to the support website. If you really want to fix this, put it in as a bug and prey you convince QA to press the issue.Contacted GM, got automated message saying there's nothing they can do.
Spoke to someone on live chat, they told me to ask to speak to a GM directly and inquire about an item restoration.
Sent another GM call, and got the same exact automated reply again, even after asking to speak to someone directly.
Replied to the latest GM reply, and currently waiting to hear from them again.
WTF is it that GMs do in this game??? Am I totally stuck now? I'm so mad. At first it was just at myself for making a careless mistake, but now I'm also pissed at this poor excuse for customer service. Isn't this part of the reason payments are starting in January?
Any rep can help me out with this? I'd like a real response regarding my issue, not some copy & pasted generic response (which is always the same, no matter what you call a GM for).
I recommend to state the inability to acquire a second perigrin helm is the bug and players should only be restricted from getting a second one if there is already one on their account.
yeah.. but that's BULLSHIT. And yes the GM's should restore people's rare/ex items that are the best in the game if they accidentally npc them, because 1. there is no way to get it again even though they still have every job to 50 2. Why is it even NPCable?!?! The sad part is anyone could make this mistake hell look at my signatureSorry for your lose, but you made the mistake, there is no need to harass the GMs about it, phone support is not for this kind of issue nether, they told you to talk to a GM, because it is an in game issue, they honestly should have not promised they would do a item restore. As on the GM side, they do it for one, and they will have to do it for every person that sells something by mistake. I do agree though that a confirmation or a buy back would be nice.![]()

If it is in their tos/job description they need to honor it. That is really shameful on their behalf.

I feel you bro, I have NPCed my Garlond goggles by mistake a few months before.
They are not as important as the crown but yeah, they should be able to replace these things (or at least make them unsellable to npc).
only the sgms (senior) can do this, the one you spoke to was probly just a glorified customer service rep and didnt feel like bothering his boss, you might have better luck durring jp time getting ahold of an sgm as NA gms are just outsourced stooges
Hmm, that is possible. But the GM also did mention that the info in the support center is incorrect. I took his advice and put in a suggestion for reinstatement of such a service. They have this service in FFXI, I would hope it becomes available in FFXIV as well.
Though I think a better solution to this, which affects everyone equally, would be to just allow us to recover the items ourselves by speaking to the NPC again. I really hope a forum rep can pass this suggestion along to the dev team.
This is just like the time I sold my stack of copper ores by accident.
