Make Wildfire a number of GCDs, not a timer.

They tried that from what I remember of the job's initial implementation. Hypercharged Rook caused physical vulnerability, Hypercharged Bishop caused magic vulnerability, and then there were Dismantle and Rend Mind(I think that was the name) to reduce the target's physical and magical damage respectively. It really didn't work.
Honesty as long as the turret dosen't get recalled for Overcharge & just starts working again after the debuff is over... & they make some sorta "Instant" Overheat mech/skill/trait I'll be fine with MCH, even thou I have gotten use to 4.0 MCH I mean it ant 3.0 MCH, I liked that version... except the casting animation, THAT made me cringe a lot... but at lest it isn't a total broken mess right!
What some see as "distracted" is really "fathoming the unfathomable" - last words from an Ul'dahn Mercurial Chemister at the battle of Carteneau

Whoever designed MCH had a ton of ideas and spent no time fleshing them out. I'm still confused why we use Hot Shot during quests to scare off NPCs. Are we actually using different ammunition for that as opposed to slug shot? Of all the concepts to integrate why didn't they make actual options for type of ammo to fire? The Heated animations make no sense. In fact all of the abilities have no logical explanation. Why exactly does Rapid Fire have a cool down? Our gun can only shoot fast 3 times in a row every 60 seconds? Cause "reasons" right? Shouldn't we always be shooting as fast as possible. Ricochet is technological marvel with no explanation whatsoever. I wanna love it but it feels absurd.
Hi can someone point me in the direction of learning to play MCH, sample rotations, skill priority and usage etc. Just want to try out MCH as I have it to 40lvl but gave up on it in the past. Also if you could do the same for bars, that would be lovely. Thank you and I would be ever so grateful

Machinists don't use conventional bullets, they fire highly condensed lightning aether. The process is the entire reason the fanny pack exists and can be used to rationalize things like Ricochet, why Rapid Fire isn't permanent, turret construction and deployment, etc. Things like the heat mechanic and Flamethrower would presumably be an evolution of the concept, either improvements to utilize fire aether or to convert lightning into heat.Whoever designed MCH had a ton of ideas and spent no time fleshing them out. Honestly my biggest complaints are that 1) the Gauss Barrel is incredibly ugly, and 2) Wildfire is awful in its current form.
In theory Wildfire isn't much different than any other DPS CD. You want to use all your strongest stuff during Blood for Blood, Raging Strikes, etc too. Problem is that Wildfire is really clunky to use (freaking overheat...), and because it puts a debuff on the mob rather than a buff on the player, you get nothing out of it if you lose or have to change targets while it's active. DRGs still get the full damage bonus if they switch targets or AoE while B4B is up. MCHs on the other hand get next to nothing because it only affects one target.
