Please extend this year's Valentione's Day event?

And you're going to conveniently forget that the actual day of celebration the event is for is the day before the end of the event? That is a bad move by SE. Valentine's Day should have been in the middle or at the beginning of the event, not right at the end. None of the events should have the actual celebration day at the very end. Especially an event like this in which many couples would want to do the event together on the 14th for obvious reasons. Having it at the end means if something like the instance servers hiccups then the event is ruined for a lot of people.

Nah, that's just a different point entirely. And one I agree with. Not really sure what their process was on that decision. Shoulda at least had it running through the weekend following the day.

But the greater fact remains that the timing has been known for a long while now, and I choose not to dredge up much sympathy for anyone that thought waiting until the last minute was a good idea. But I'm a heartless bastard.

I agree that it's unlikely that the event will be extended but I still think it should be if possible given the nature of it, that the main day for it is so poorly timed and how that is no fault of the players. For the event to mess up on the main day of it is a really bad experience for the players. Especially when it's gone the next day and maintenance will be cutting into what little time is left. This is bad planning by SE, not the players.

I think it's a bit silly for a couple to be upset about this instead of using Valentine's Day for doing...anything else other than being on an MMO and putting serious stock into a short Valentine's Day event.

Are you somehow unaware that some couples meet in the game? And sometimes a considerable amount of time passes before they can live together? Should they be criticised for doing a Valentine's Day event together, in the game where they met, on Valentine's Day? While the event is short it is special to a lot of couples who met in the game.

I met my boyfriend in this game. We live together now and we still did the event together on the 14th anyway.

No, I'm not unaware of relationships like that. And I still hold that same opinion, because that's just how I feel. If people want to criticize them for it, then they will. If people want to defend it, then they'll defend it.

...trust me, there are couples who'd love to do anything else other than being on an MMO on Valentine's Day, but thanks to long distance relationships this might very well be their best chance to spend some time together - so why not do the event quest that was designed for that day?

Dont judge people over this until you know their circumstances - while my boyfriend and I did the quest much earlier to be able to farm a few more items, I could see why people would wait with it. Getting upset about it now might be a bit silly - but not as silly as broken instances servers and an event schedudle that puts the actual holiday at the end of the allocated time.
