Please extend this year's Valentione's Day event?

Like, by atleast a day. My girlfriend and I were waiting until February 14 to actually do the event together. Now, snap to today, and we now have maintenance scheduled in four hours. Beyond that, now instanced servers apparently have borked and people on some servers have been waiting over 100 minutes to actually enter the instance.

Given the Emergency Maintenance and Server Issues, it would be highly appreciated if the event could be extended by atleast one more day.

I mean, I get the instance server issue, but, the event's been running fine for two weeks up until now.

Shit happens and we were planning to do it today for a certainty, which shouldn't have been a problem since today is literally the day the event is about. It was in our plans.

And you're going to conveniently forget that the actual day of celebration the event is for is the day before the end of the event? That is a bad move by SE. Valentine's Day should have been in the middle or at the beginning of the event, not right at the end. None of the events should have the actual celebration day at the very end. Especially an event like this in which many couples would want to do the event together on the 14th for obvious reasons. Having it at the end means if something like the instance servers hiccups then the event is ruined for a lot of people.

Nah, that's just a different point entirely. And one I agree with. Not really sure what their process was on that decision. Shoulda at least had it running through the weekend following the day.

But the greater fact remains that the timing has been known for a long while now, and I choose not to dredge up much sympathy for anyone that thought waiting until the last minute was a good idea. But I'm a heartless bastard.

I mean, sure, it sucks that extra maintenance will be cutting into the event, but things like that are exactly why you don't put something off, eh? If they never make concessions for anything else that gets interrupted by emergency maintenance, I wouldn't hold my breath to see an exception here.

I'll fully admit to procrastinating until the last day to farm up some chocolates and finish the event on alts, but if the schedule says the event is to be up and running, it should be running. People can't reasonably acquire event items at this point with queue times of over an hour and a half for something that was near instant earlier in the day. Yes, there's still time after maintenance, but a lot of people are going to have to forgo sleep for it. I fully expect to not have the event extended, but I would like to request that the items either be added to vendors for whatever event is coming next and/or be added to next years' event before being shipped off to the mogstation warehouse. I'd also request in future that events not end until at least couple days after a holiday.

edit: Seems the queue has gone back to under 5 minutes again. Get your achievements/chocolates before the servers keel over again.

Just because it's actually Valentine's day doesn't make whatever you do today special. So many people hold Feb 14th as 'Oh lovey dovey' day'. It's honestly not a special day at all, it's just a 'planned day to do something for someone you love', when doing it unplanned/out of the blue is so much better.

What's with all the blaming. If the event was scheduled from Jan 31 to Feb 15 then you kind of expect it to work during that time and plan accordingly. It doesn't matter if he planned it for the last day or not. I'm in the same boat, I mean, I did it but a friend of mine was only able to do it today and we couldn't do it because of the server issues. SE should totally extend this for one more day.
