In HW the least popular role got a highly requested job with a badass sword... and people still wouldnt play it.
Or rather: They did, but they only leveled their DRK and their AST to 70 and then returned to their DPS-main, if they were a previous DPS-main.
Their reason for not giving us a new tank and healer in SB was that giving us DRK and AST with HW didnt actually increase the overall number of tanks and healers. And I seriously doubt that Gunbreaker is gonna be any different in that regard - most people are gonna try it out, maybe level it to 80... and then return to whatever DPS-class they were playing before. People wont suddenly enjoy tanking, because they can now do it with a gunblade. And they definitly wont enjoy tanking the more difficult duties like EX-primals and Savage (where tanks are even more in demand than normal dungeons - luckly they changed the achievements and you get mount-points for dungeons and roulettes aswell, but its pretty clear that the original intention was to get tanks into endgame-content).
Just the gunbalde wont be enough of an incentive for DPS to play a tank (more often). It will be enough for tank-mains to consider switching their tank-job, probably. But there is a reason that we have a thread requesting to turn Gunbreaker into a DPS: Most people dont want to play a tank and they wont even do it, even if its the job they wanted to play since 1.0.
