    Whether or not tanks and healers need variety is beside the point when you say dps should get no new jobs until 6 or 7.0. Thats 4 to 6 years of nothing for rangers or casters as well as melee dps.

    Ranger dps are far less represented than tanks or healers. Only two jobs are in that role, if we're going to talk about needing variety.

    Also on variety we have tanks getting gunbreaker, a job whose silhouette looks incredibly similar to DRK and who's actions look like PLD. It's going to struggle to find an identity of its own as it is. We could have gotten BLU as our first dom tank or a hammer tank; instead we had to get -another sword-.

    "I wanna tank. What weapons do tanks xiv use?"
    "Well you have sword and board...greatsword...gunsword...and axe."

    Great variety there.

    Maybe the 3rd DPS Range Job can be the Cross-bow(or Gun)/Sword Job that follows similar to Red Mage range then melee then back to range fighting style but using a different energy system and mechanic focusing on performing combos with both range and sword skills instead of Red Mage play style which is 90% magic range and only 10% melee range.

    A corsair (sword in one hand, gun in the other) would be pretty neat job to have. I've wanted one for a long while in FFXIV.

    Honestly, i was hoping we'd get something like that in the Gunbreaker.. so if we get it with something else, sign me up. A sword/pistol or crossbow combo would be pretty nice (sword/shotgun even better :P); though, i would want more proc based mechanics for it to when it would jump back and fire the ranged stuff. So it was less of an inverse red mage and more it's own thing.

    Been hoping for a sword/Gun job for a long long time since 3.0 release as a future DPS Job. Sadly still no word on that concept and I doubt we may see it as a surprise 3rd job reveal during the next 5.0 content reveal event but who can say since Yoshi-p just love surprises for us.

    Well.. i know that won't be a mechanic for the Gunbreaker. I know it's a tank, i said i WISH that was what it was rather than the tank; and that since it's not going to have a mechanic like that, i'd like one that would, which is why i expressed favour to the blade/gun picture.

    As for manually pulling the trigger? No, i don't think that will be a thing.

    He quickly clarified that he meant the trigger thing was more an aesthetic style than an actual mechanic.
