I’m assuming a lot of people will disagree with this thread but yea I’m not a fan. Like partly I don’t care like you want to post stuff on there fine. It just creeps me out that people post stuff about other people on there (their logs). Idk does that not creep other people out? I haven’t looked on it ever. I’m sure I’m on their someplace but who knows.

Like even if I did use the site and parse stuff I still wouldn’t post other people’s stuff. I just have a lvl of common respect for fellow humans that it’s not my place to post data about others without their consent.

On the flip side I haven’t encountered much issues personally in pugs (I’m not the most hardcore of raiders). If a pf mentions fflogs I just don’t join, for 2 reasons: I don’t want the drama, and it usually goes south cause people care more about their dps then mechnics, and then drama happens then people get upset then everyone performs worse overall.

Websites like these were one of the catalysts to the destruction of the WoW community due to the influx of elitist jerks who prided themselves on being better than everyone else, and making sure YOU KNEW IT. I'd be happy to see it go.

But still its inherently disrespectful, and yea creepy lol. and yes if you do that, yes you are creepy. wrong. you're technically gathering this info through breaking the rules. Third party programs aren't allowed, you are not allowed access to the info you are taking via terms of service, and sharing said data is against privacy standards.. Once again people, you are posting info about others in order for them to be judged on a website. you can argue this all you want, but in the end just admit you're being disrespectful.

Also even if it was with the rules, still disrespectful. just like players who shout in pf saying "this person is bad cause they were mean to me" witchhunting is lame guys. just let other people do their thing it doesn't concern you. post your numbers all you want, why post others?

I didn't say anything about third party programs. It's very easy to copy the battle chat log and produce the same exact data without resorting to third party programs. But when you say it's info about others, then you shouldn't have given SE the full rights for it, since it is SE that gave it to us in our battle logs.

JUST ASK PERMISSION from someone else to post it for all to see. simple human decency people, and if you can't do that well yea then truly the person who started this post has a point. it really does hurt the community in the end.
