Shadowbringers, a love story

Curious Gorge and Dorgono is already OTP. So far they are the only couple I see that has mutual feeling from both sides.

I support a relationship between Hien and the dozen male Au Ra in minimal clothing that keep stalking him every now and then.

Setting that aside I think I'd rather have a small sidestory as a romantic one than the main focus of things. Like Tataru and Wedge.
Though the true love story of this game could have been Yotsuyu and Gosetsu.

I felt like Yotsuyu really had an opportunity for a great redemption arc there. She still got some redemption when she took that Asahi slimeball down with her. Also...

Poor Thancred though.
Thancred recovers Minfillia. After she had been dead and gone from his life.
Sees she's become a child.
Hears the police sirens.
Thancred cries "This isn't fair!"

I don't want to see potatos having their yeast activated.

I want to see some proper Nashu and Hildebrand rommance go down.

Maybe some more Hildebrand/Yojimbo? :3

Y'shtola/Little Sun could be really fun if they keep up with that.

A few job quests seemed to be lining up couples, actually. Curious Gorge/Dorgono was mentioned earlier; also Alka Zolka/Setoto pretty heavily hinted in the SCH quest and Zhai'a/Lalai suggested in the BLM quests. Oh, and Aldis/Mylla from GLA (and extending into PLD now) is pretty clear, if possibly of the 'eternally unresolved' variety.

Thancred was Minfilia's foster dad* and kept hitting on her foster mom F'lahminn so I'm a little squicked out by people wanting to see him hook up with Minfilia...

I think the running gag with him is that he hits on whatever new female character wanders into that area, last patch it was just Y'shtola's turn. Though her reaction to it was the best, no lie.

As a father loves a daughter. When Thancred first met Minfilia, she was a child and he was an adult. He became her protector and guardian. This business with Minfillia being a child again in Shadowbringers is just reinforcing the father/daughter relationship.

So if there is one thing that FFXIV is lacking, it's any real or true love story. Sure you hear of see a random character pine over another. Livia and Gaius, Urianger and Moenbryda. But there is no real love story. Actually real love stories is something a lot of mmos lack although its not at all far fetched in an FF game.

So, I am hoping we will finally see one in Shadowbringers and I hope it is between the two characters I have wanted to get together since the get go. Minfilia and Thancred.

Now I know I know, "she is just a child in the trailer", but it could be that she had to be reborn after the events on the first shard and is aging quickly, as they seem to do in tropes like this, then she could reasonably get back to the Minfilia we know, and if Thancred is crossing shards to save her what could be a better set up for a real Rosa and Cecil, Yuna and Tidus, Rydia and Edge sort of love story?

We all know he loves her deeply anyway and that she doesn't seem to know since he is so guarded.

Idk I think it would just be lovely. Esp in all the chaos that is about to ensue, if we just had this story unfold on the side.

In addition to him being way too old for her, she literally calls him grandpa in the Japanese version... Yes, I know they're not actually related, but still, it serves to emphasize the age gap.
