I really, really want the option to have NPC romance as Warrior of Light. I don't know if it would be significantly harder given the MMO format to have multiple dialogue options and cutscenes set up according to player choices but BY GOD DO I HOPE THEY FIND A WAY.

I hope the Tataru/Wedge thing goes somewhere. I'm cheering for them.

They made it obvious Wedge adores her in ARR, then did nothing with it for two expansions. Am as so disappointed in that.

Now Tataru isn't interested in anything that isn't project-related. Boy is gonna have to step up his game at this point - he has some catching up to do.

In addition to him being way too old for her, she literally calls him grandpa in the Japanese version... Yes, I know they're not actually related, but still, it serves to emphasize the age gap.

My other half is 20 years my senior, its not like an age gap is really anything these days. I just think their relationship is sweet and he does love her.

I played v1, I know their relationship from its beginnings. But it doesn't mean feelings cant grow and change, I just think it would be a sweet story that could have its tragic aspects but at the same time be intense and crazy.

Sry but a large age gap between people who met as adults is completely different in my mind then the gap between people who met, not to mention had a close mentor/family relationship when one was a child. Minfilla is very important to Thancred, but I can't see a romantic relationship between them as anything other than creepy.

A "romance" I'd like to see more of is Carvallain and Rhoswen. Or just more of those two in general.

Though the true love story of this game could have been Yotsuyu and Gosetsu.

Not exactly, as their relationship seemed more like Father and Daughter as Gosetsu likely saw "Tsuyu" as a replacement for his lost daughter.

That would be difficult to fit in with the current Bonding Ceremony. Even if they added the ability to Bond to NPCs, it would make the Eternity Ring teleport useless (and halve the profits on weddings).

I could see them adding a system similar to the Satisfaction system with the collectable NPCs though. With an "implied" romance where it's clear the NPC is into your character but never acts on it.

Exactly, Naria... I was already raising an eyebrow that this thread got to page three and nobody had mentioned them. They were arguably one of the first "speculative" couples on the game
