We can all agree though that content shouldn't be a week long or a day long, right?

yes, and i think SE us spending too much time fixing things that we know wont really be good until 2.0 anyways, so we end up getting much less content as they fiddle with the crappy version we have now.
Of course the same few people will come in here and tell you there is TONS to do and how you should leave if you dont like it XD
If they don't fix everything they can now, they'll end up releasing 2.0 with way more problems than it needs to have. Now is the time for the foundation to be laid for 2.0. They've said a lot of the content they add now will be inaccessible come 2.0, anyway, so it's a waste of time for them to pump tons of it out.yes, and i think SE us spending too much time fixing things that we know wont really be good until 2.0 anyways, so we end up getting much less content as they fiddle with the crappy version we have now.

Let them get the game on solid ground. Let them implement jobs, balance the recent class action overhaul, fine-tune the market wards, gear-dying, stat allotment, monster strength, etc. Let them study the primal fights they've released so they can release better ones in the future. Let them make the game fun to play before asking for all kinds of temporary content.
well if they want to spend their time fixing and laying groundwork, then charging people to basically test it...well thats a load of crap. You want to pay for what should feel like a working and stable game, so content should be the bulk of EVERY patch. Otherwise you might as well it what it really is....a beta and not charge 10$ a month for it.If they don't fix everything they can now, they'll end up releasing 2.0 with way more problems than it needs to have. If that's your mindset, then stop trying to fool yourself into thinking it is anything more than a well-polished beta. Because that's exactly what it is now. If you don't feel like there's enough content to warrant your monthly fee, don't pay it. Simple as that.well if they want to spend their time fixing and laying groundwork, then charging people to basically test it...well thats a load of crap. like i said i wont be until 2.0. Simple as that. Just making a point against what you said, and like you agreed, its just a polished beta.
I would say that no one should really expect any long-term, difficult to complete content until after 2.0. Right now SE's goal is to make 2.0 amazing, and keep subs in the meantime; so until 2.0 they're going to be throwing some fun, short-lived content at us to keep us happy and (fairly) busy.
I think the Moogle fight is really fun and appropriately difficult, and really the only issue is avoiding obvious exploits in the future (reset-strat, wrist flick, etc) to make the content more legitimate. Right now I have low expectations, but when 2.0 hits, my expectations are going to be extremely high.
I honestly don't see them making any long lasting content until after 2.0. Even though they are updating the game, it's for a small player base that will only last for a short period of time. Now I believe that they will add more content per patch because Yoshida believes the game has a much stronger base than before. The closest thing to a long-term thing this game will probably have before 2.0 is the world changes they mentioned, my guess being a continuation with the story line quests through grand companies.
