Well then, perhaps they should have put in a countermeasure to stop that if it's such a problem, or maybe it's part of their "wishes" to be able to skip by dc'ing.
You're deliberatly taking what they are saying out of context. What does your first part have to do with it? Your logic of being completely unquestioning of questionable design choices is ridiculous and I'm pointing that out. If the devs approached the game with your mindset that they are never to be criticised, then nothing would ever change in this game, for better or worse.
They are trying to word what the players are doing without out and right saying thosoe players are cheating. And they are cheating. There's nothing to debate there about it.
Wheter devs designed something poorly is irrlevant.it doesnt give players an excuse to cheat.
And thats what has summed up a lot of this thread.
Dev's made it bad so it's their fault for palyers cheating.
Well its not. It's never been ok in any games to cheat and this new thing over the last few years where players try to throw the blame elsewhere for them playing dirty needs to some.
It's obvious case of millenial syndrom where younger gamers are so used to having everything their way in life and never been told off or punished for doing wrong that it because second nature to throw the blame off to someone else.
The thread is not about if the devs did a bad job with the content. The thread is about the fact that players are cheating and being let get away with it and being supported by some of the community which wil just encourage the abuse of more bugs found in the future.
And aside from that they are purposly destroying the experience for any new players to achieve this.
So what would you do then? Punish everyone who dc's during a main scenario roulette? Laughable, you can't prove they're all exploiting like the Ungarmax bug. You're deliberatly taking what they are saying out of context.

Nope i'd do what i said earlier in the thread. If there is evidence that a player has done it multiple times then punish them. They have logs of players connecting and disconnecting so actually its not that hard to see when people have been doing it multiple times in that onme particular instanced dungeon over several times.
I can tell you've been useing it btw.Your attitude and your last post. Its why you're so strongly defending it as you'd have nothing to gain by defending cheting if it wasnt the case.
If you genuinely disconnected, and came back to find everyone else still in the cutscene, you don't have to keep going. You can stay there and wait for the others to finish, and all continue on together. As the developers clearly envisaged everyone doing in the first place, without the need to force it upon people the rest of the time, although it was evidently an overly optimistic view of player behaviour.
Cool assumption. I actually haven't run the roulette ever since they made the change.
Yeah, people typically find ways around things they don't like, especially if they think the rewards are worth it still. I personally don't care for the rewards it currently gives, had full 70's on all combat classes before the change and tomes are easier and more fun to get by doing literally anything else.If you genuinely disconnected, and came back to find everyone else still in the cutscene, you don't have to keep going. But they're not explained at max level either. So how do players find out about it?
What makes it valid that a max level player should go and learn about it and not one at any level below maximum?
Not to mention Party Finder is accessible and mentioned by the Active Help upon clearing Sastasha. So claiming new players don't know about it or that devs don't intend it to be used in situations like this is wrong.
I will not be forced to do anything. I will quit the game before that. No one can make me pay for a skip.
Quote "So just never queue up for it. Let the newbies pay for the ARR story skip. They'll be forced to when they're all stuck on DPS roles with no tank or healer veterans being in the queue for them. "

At the very least either investigate people who seem to dc on every cutscene in only that instance, multiple runs or punish the players who openly admit to exploiting the skip or encourage/demand others to. Quite simple.
I disagree with the mindset of justifying something against the rules because it wasn't designed to your preferences. I fully agree with feedback on the cutscenes (it's ridiculous it applies to unsynced runs for example) but breaking ToS and ruining the experience for new players doesn't sort anything.
Sure, I don't have a problem with punishing those who say they're exploiting out loud, it'll be similar to how they punish parser abuse then, but I really doubt they'd ever investigate deliberate dc'ing in cutscenes. They don't even investigate all the RMT bot guilds that are everywhere, it'd be way out of whack if they investigated people dc'ing versus something that can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt like RMT.At the very least either investigate people who seem to dc on every cutscene in only that instance, multiple runs or punish the players who openly admit to exploiting the skip or encourage/demand others to.
