If someone has the time and energy to play, they should be able to play without being gated at 450 tomes/week, or 1 item per week in raids, weekly crafting turn in caps, etc.
They shouldnt be restricted because someone ELSE doesnt necessarily have a similar amount of time to play.

This actually has driven me from the game a lot. With the exception of Eureka for the moment, I rarely play unless its Tuesday and caps are reset. Don't get me wrong I WANT TO PLAY, but I am forced not to because not all content is relevant to me and/or Im capped on the content I do find appealing...
I'd love to gear up and play MORE jobs than the 3 I do, but honestly keeping those 3 geared with the caps in place is hard enough. (again Eureka being general exception to the rule for the moment...) Can I have more Eureka-like content where progression is uncapped??
I can see this early on, like the first week or two of a new tier. That said, it also creates a bit of an artificial delay for people who aren't logging on every week that could easily be eliminated similar to how leves work (i.e. maybe do a cap of 450/week that builds up to 4500 or whatever you can have banked to earn, etc.).

I'd be totally cool with having "banked" per week stuff, but I'd still prefer less locked content. Or make dungeon gear a bit higher ilvl so its more relevant. For example if raid gear is i400, make crafted gear/eureka/24man raid content i390 and dungeon gear should be i380 (i370 at the very minimum).

Anyways my brain is a fog. I'm pretty sure what Im trying to get across is getting lost in translation between my brain, my screaming kiddo in the background and my forum posts.

In all fairness, I think they kinda do. I mean, the current raid on normal drops 380 and requires 355....which drop in dungeons that require 340. That step-up isn't so bad, IMO. (Granted, I'm not talking about savage raids at that point, but it makes sense to work up to those if that's the content you're interested in doing.)

The dungeon gear is still far too low item level. It should be i370minimum, so you can actually be decently geared for content like EX primals and Alliance raids. Then upgrade from there again. It really feels off and makes dungeons seem absolutely pointless beyond doing them for the duty roullette bonus tomes.

I could kinda see that for EX Primals. For Alliance raids, though, what are you talking about? The current alliance raid has the same requirements as the dungeons themselves, and drops i360 gear. Yes, the next one will drop i390 gear most likely and will probably require i355, but I'd be willing to bet the dungeon coming out next patch also drops i375-i385ish gear as well.

Thats kinda what Im getting at. The gear lvls feel wrong for the content, and thats why gated content feels so much worse than it probably is.
For the sake of this argument let's say we left gated content alone, then dungeon gear should start at i370, then EX Primals and Eureka-like content should be i380, alliance raids and 8-man NM raids should be i390, and Savage mode should be i400. (Basically going in tiers of 10ilvls)
Crafted gear should be peppered in between like it currently is. The highest crafted gear should always be 20-25ilvls lower than the current max ilvl in the game w/2 materia slots (5 slots if HQ) purely because it can be melded/overmelded to your liking.

Right now its weird having dungeon gear be so much lower at currently i355. Alliance raid gear too feels too low by comparison. Which is what Im kinda trying to point out here. If its gonna be that low then it shouldnt be restricted to 1 a week initially.
