Mid-range computer I built back in 2007 for little less then 1,000 dollars. With the game settings I use, I get about 40-60 FPS usually.

    Game Settings Screen Shot:
    http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/3...ivsettings.png
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 65W
    RAM :Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
    Video Card: EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16
Mobo: MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX
    PSU: Rosewill Xtreme Series 850W
    GPU HS:ZALMAN VF900 – CU 2 Ball VGA Cooler
    CPU HS:ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Case: Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower
Optical Storage: SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD Burner Black SATA
Monitor: ASUS Black 22" 2ms(GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor
Random Media Hookups: Connected to a 46" Sharp Aquos LCD TV and 5.1 HT in another room for movies and other stuff. I use a Logitech Y-RAN77 keyboard to control it from the other room. The keyboard was designed for my PS3, but it works with windows 7 just as well.
Main Keyboard & Mouse: Both are cheap walmart junk, good enough for an MMO

I've come to a belief that the only way someone can overclock the i7 cpus at such high levels under 75c is to go with a water cooling system. Air just can't keep up.

    This is my set up:
    Intel i7 930 cpu
    ASUS p6x58d premium motherboard
EVGA gtx 480 1536MG video card
    Corsair Dominator DDR3 6GB (3x2g) ram
Antec TruePower 750 watt power supply
    Antec 900 case
Corsair Hydro Series H50 CPU cooler
Western Digital Black SATA 1TB hard drive
    Asus CD/DVD optical drive
    Windows 7 Home Edition

I had my CPU overclocked to 4.0ghz and was getting ~81c on all cores on prime95. I also felt that I would never get those temperatures on any real programs, but after a few months of using my computer I ended up reaching mid 80s on BF2 Badcompany. This is largely due to living in southern AZ where it is starting to heat up and I have no ac. Still, for protection I stopped overclocking and I think I will maybe put it back to around 3.6-3.8.

In game, I can run with maxed settings at around 22fps I think. But if I lower the AA to 8x I think I'm getting around 30fps. I could probably take one more setting down and run the game really smoothly, but I like looking at the crisp textures.

Once the gtx 480 drops in price I may add another one with SLI and get a 1000 watt ps. Though I'm a little uncomfortable about being so energy greedy.
Yeah this game is really pretty! The difference between draw quality 8 and 10 is soo much imo its kind of hard to pass up lol. Well to be honest with you I havent tested my 4.8 while running FFXIV I kind of just did that on my off time lmao. I usually kept it around 4.5 and it would stay at 60 ish underload. Ambient temperature is what is killing me too atm, I can only imagine running a 480 in Arizona LOL! I live in Toronto which get really really hot during the summer, probably really close to Arizona because of the humidity I really dont know what I am going to do lol, my room is not exactly small by any means but if your plan FFXIV and even with you fan @ 72 I am still getting about 65 degrees in the winter. Which is not hot by any means in the winter. However it does make my room really uncomfortable, having my computer spew 65-70 degree are out the back and top of it for such long periods of time. I dont really use the air conditioning during the day in the summer because it just works it too much, unless it is 45 degrees celcius out anything belowe 35 I dont use air until the night. I can only imagine how a single 480 would generate heat in Arizona, let alone a second one :P Thanks for the post.

Wow thats a lot of partitions lol ^^ I have a question do you find you can get max settings @ 60 frames with a single 580? I know a few people who have them, and they usually end up dropping their draw quality to 9 or even 8 for that matter. Another quest I would have is how do you like your keyboard, I am in the market for one finally, and I am debating what to get. I play with a gamepad in general fyi.

Wow lol... I really like how you would like to tell me how PC are playing constant catch up to consoles. Yes console gaming is more popular merely for the ease compatibility. If I posted the specs of a PS3 and XBox 360 vs PC's I would not say PC's need to play any sort of catch up. I figure Mhati is right though, the game on PS3 may only come out in 720P maybe? Anyone know any different?
