I have the maximum pre loaded frames set to 3 which was default. Do you suggest I change it? As far as your last question yeah there is a lot of stuttering when characters load in Uldah for about 4 seconds and then it goes away. I dont quite notice it on the road. I did get it to 5GHZ :P the minute I started to run prime95 my cores jumped up to about 90 instantly, which makes me think that I need to re apply my paste cause I do have a really good cooler and it should be a bit cooler at that point I think. However it might have to wait for me to move it into the basement because my ambient temperature is really high. At 4.8 things hover at about 80 under 100% load, but then again how often am I under 100% load... almost never. I never really break 30% during regular use for the most part I dont think. I could test some stuff for you when game comes back up because I would like to learn more about those features you mentioned.
I wouldn't expect to get temperatures under 80c while overclocking to 4.8ghz with the heatsink you are using (even though it is a good one.) I've come to a belief that the only way someone can overclock the i7 cpus at such high levels under 75c is to go with a water cooling system. Air just can't keep up.

    This is my set up:
    Intel i7 930 cpu
    ASUS p6x58d premium motherboard
EVGA gtx 480 1536MG video card
    Corsair Dominator DDR3 6GB (3x2g) ram
Antec TruePower 750 watt power supply
    Antec 900 case
Corsair Hydro Series H50 CPU cooler
Western Digital Black SATA 1TB hard drive
    Asus CD/DVD optical drive
    Windows 7 Home Edition

I had my CPU overclocked to 4.0ghz and was getting ~81c on all cores on prime95. I also felt that I would never get those temperatures on any real programs, but after a few months of using my computer I ended up reaching mid 80s on BF2 Badcompany. This is largely due to living in southern AZ where it is starting to heat up and I have no ac. Still, for protection I stopped overclocking and I think I will maybe put it back to around 3.6-3.8.

In game, I can run with maxed settings at around 22fps I think. But if I lower the AA to 8x I think I'm getting around 30fps. I could probably take one more setting down and run the game really smoothly, but I like looking at the crisp textures.

Once the gtx 480 drops in price I may add another one with SLI and get a 1000 watt ps. Though I'm a little uncomfortable about being so energy greedy.

Good choice with the MoBo, it was either this or the UD7 for me.

Yeah this game is really pretty! The difference between draw quality 8 and 10 is soo much imo its kind of hard to pass up lol. Well to be honest with you I havent tested my 4.8 while running FFXIV I kind of just did that on my off time lmao. I usually kept it around 4.5 and it would stay at 60 ish underload. Ambient temperature is what is killing me too atm, I can only imagine running a 480 in Arizona LOL! I live in Toronto which get really really hot during the summer, probably really close to Arizona because of the humidity I really dont know what I am going to do lol, my room is not exactly small by any means but if your plan FFXIV and even with you fan @ 72 I am still getting about 65 degrees in the winter. Which is not hot by any means in the winter. However it does make my room really uncomfortable, having my computer spew 65-70 degree are out the back and top of it for such long periods of time. I dont really use the air conditioning during the day in the summer because it just works it too much, unless it is 45 degrees celcius out anything belowe 35 I dont use air until the night. I can only imagine how a single 480 would generate heat in Arizona, let alone a second one :P Thanks for the post.
