My characters won't be affected by the change but sadly some of my friends will be moved to the Crystal DC so I might move my main there but my alt will stay in the Primal DC.

That's a bold assumption, I've seen more non-raiders from Diabolos complaining about being paired with Balmung than those who do (yes I know RP =/= bad but this is not the mentality that roams non-RP servers), your data center also impacts your duty finder experience, and you don't have to raid to befriend people from other servers (see http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...%28attn.-SE%29)

Less than 2% you say? Funny. When I look at this site, which pulls from the Lodestone, I see 21.5% of characters own the Air Force mount. Even if we're extremely generous and assume 50% are alts, that remains roughly 11%—five times your estimation.
