Even now, statics have trouble finding new members, queues are long (lol PvP), Farm Groups could be more... And this little population is to be splitted in two. That... will be the death of decent raiding, PvP, and all those trying DPS queueing.

That's fair. I will admit the whole static thing is a bit weird to me. Having people on different servers do Savage together I mean. I came from WoW so the concept of moving servers based on where the people who want to do certain content are (or recruiting people to move to your server when necessary) is standard operating procedure.

Raiding is surely an important asset of the game, but we are talking of more or less 2% of population, that drops down to 0,x% if we talk of o12s clear.
Yes, let's try keep everyone happy with datacenter changes. If only 0,x% isn't, that is a huge success imho.

That's a bold assumption, I've seen more non-raiders from Diabolos complaining about being paired with Balmung than those who do (yes I know RP =/= bad but this is not the mentality that roams non-RP servers), your data center also impacts your duty finder experience, and you don't have to raid to befriend people from other servers (see http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...%28attn.-SE%29)Raiding is surely an important asset of the game, but we are talking of more or less 2% of population, that drops down to 0,x% if we talk of o12s clear.

Less than 2% you say? Funny. When I look at this site, which pulls from the Lodestone, I see 21.5% of characters own the Air Force mount. Even if we're extremely generous and assume 50% are alts, that remains roughly 11%—five times your estimation.Raiding is surely an important asset of the game, but we are talking of more or less 2% of population, that drops down to 0,x% if we talk of o12s clear.

If you read it on the internet, it must be true......When I look at this site, which pulls from the Lodestone, I see 21.5% of characters own the Air Force Mount...

This site extract data from lodestone too, but seems more reliable then the one that says 20% of players cleared o8s. 20% of raiding players, makes more sense. And yes I had read it on the internet too. Let's ask SE for the real numbers?
Edit: adding an achievement for any savage clears surely will help a lot for better stats.

Except like Bourne said, the other site pulls from Lodestone. And one of the things you can't hide on Lodestone is your mounts. Therefore, number of Air Forces aquired = number of characters who raided O8S. And before you claim "oh that's just characters, not players", you'd be implying most of the raiding population are just alts of each other. This site extract data from lodestone too, but seems more reliable then the one that says 20% of players cleared o8s. 20% of raiding players, makes more sense. Also bear in mind that raiding =/= having a mount. There are people who cleared O8S and haven't gotten the mount. Plus people who were running O5S - O8S but were unable to clear everything before unlock and echo. Those people still are raiders.
So if anything, the 20% number is wrong by default, not excess. And there are more people raiding than 20%

I would believe the Lucky Bancho one more. That minion/mount website might be 20 percent of players profiles that were searched on that website. Players that would visit a minion/mount website may be dedicated more to the game which will skew results. This site extract data from lodestone too, but seems more reliable then the one that says 20% of players cleared o8s. 20% of raiding players, makes more sense. Not many players care about raiding.
