With the introduction of data centre wide PFs, and cross-world linkshells, its really not a stretch to have friends and statics on different worlds.
Coeurl got screwed royally, but we gotta roll with it. People didn't go to lesser pop servers, when they had the chance. SE even made it easy to do content with people on the same data center, but people still did not want to leave the overcrowded servers. SE did what they had to do.
Strangely enough, Blizzard was able to cope with this. They stopped offering free server transfers and server merging years ago. How? More powerful servers. The hardware power outgrew what was needed while they kept improving the server software to run better.
The irony is, this might actually make the situation worse; since it is now forcing raid static that were once spread across multiple worlds, all converge onto a single DC. I even see SE likely locking Aether DC within the first couple days of this going live.Coeurl got screwed royally, but we gotta roll with it. They also have 150+ servers and a community thats not as stubborn as boulder about moving..
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
My main is on Sarg and I haven't met that many raiders to think that everyone would move to Aether once the split happens. However, there are many people that have friends with raiders so that might be the issue. I don't have friends or raid so might take this chance of free transfer and house reimbursement to move my main.
Glad I haven't bought the very expensive utilities/furniture for my house yet. The only thing that scares me is the DF/PF situation of Crystal if I decide to move there to take advantage of quiet servers to get a better plot/house. Balmung/Mateus are known to be populated but if they rarely do PvE then we have trouble.
Exactly my problem. I need to leave Malboro to be where the raiders are, but I do not have enough inventory space to bring my furnishings.
I want to know where the FC reimbursement is, I want to know how SE expects me to move something on the lines of 500 furnishings between apartment and my house. Or what about those that have FC house, FC room, personal house and apartment? The personal FC room and shop is also not addressed.
Not having a house after the move because hosing is poorly done is not addressed, all that fc shop leveling is not addressed. I do not want to be on DoA crystal unable to get groups though DF and PF, I did not pick to lose all this, What does SE plan to do????????????
This "reimbursement" is a joke.
But you have several months to sort this out. It's not like this is happening tomorrow. I know it's a pain but a lot of furnishings are now easily purchased from vendors, and if you have crafters there's a lot you could very easily remake yourself. Hang on to the super rare stuff and rebuy or recraft the cheaper stuff. It's not a perfect solution but as I said you have time to sort it and not every piece of furnishing is difficult or expensive to obtain.
