Even now, statics have trouble finding new members, queues are long (lol PvP), Farm Groups could be more... And this little population is to be splitted in two. That... will be the death of decent raiding, PvP, and all those trying DPS queueing.

That's fair. I will admit the whole static thing is a bit weird to me. Having people on different servers do Savage together I mean. I came from WoW so the concept of moving servers based on where the people who want to do certain content are (or recruiting people to move to your server when necessary) is standard operating procedure.

genuine question here, for the people affected. I haven't seen a post from anybody saying that a solution is making an alt on the other datacenter to stay in contact. Why making an alt is not an option? With an alt, you can stay in touch, you can rejoin the statics leveling it up. I think it is worth it, if I really wanted to keep contact, and leveling an alt is pretty fast in this game

While this can work for some, it means giving up everything your main has; cash shop items, titles and etc. Not to mention, if you're apart of a static, you're likely not going to be able to dedicate much time to multiple characters.

Yet the community came together and we managed to make something great of what transpired.

I'm not saying it to hurt anyone's feelings - I'm just saying take a step back away from the panicking - work it out with your friends and then come back and see if it's very negative or not.

I don't mean this to sound harsh, and I really feel bad for those that have to choose, but.... That's too bad (again, I know that sounds negative, it's not intended that way, just can't think of a better way to express it). Something needed to be done and this is what they have decided this is the best/easiest/whatever to go about it. I get that people don't want to choose... but, that's not an option. They made it pretty clear that complaining about it is futile. We would be better served spending our time trying to congregate as many people as we could somewhere that would be the most convenient for the most people of our particular group.

Oh it is always futile to complain if you are not a japanese player and i know that, but still people will vent and they have every right to do so. Its not the players fault that SE is too stingy to get better servers, find a better solution for releases or simply close servers before they are overpopulated.

I'm not understanding why some people are reacting with hesitation about sharing a server with Balmung, unless its meant as a joke. Do you think people queue for content just to RP? Ul'dah is my favourite city and yet the only way I can stumble into RP on my chatlog is if I walk into the Quicksand - and even then it's just a bunch of people standing around targetting each other. I'm sure you're used to worse spam from RMT bots. If anything it livens up the place and makes the game experience feel more authentic, not that you have to worry about that unless you actually visit.

With that said, I'm not looking forward to people visiting Balmung with alts just to troll because they take all the memes at face value........... nor what it will do to our economy, uff.

You mean back when there was nothing tying people down to their servers like Free Companies and Housing? Back when the playerbase was significantly smaller and thus could move about more easily? Back when there wasn't really raid content to worry about groups being split? You're right, that wasn't a big deal so this wont be either /sarcasm

Heck, there wasn't even instanced content in 1.0 for something like the Duty/Party Finder to exist for. You played with the people on your server and that was it. Really not the same situation at all.

I can't work out with friends if we will have enough population on both EU Datacenters for doing what we want to do.
And I can't work out with friends if I will get a plot like mine on annother server.

It seems like my only option is to transfer and loose my housing plot without a 100 % security to get a housing plot like the one I have now.

I lost my house when I swapped servers and still don't have a house on Leviathan. It doesn't affect me because the friends I made on new servers allowed me to use theirs like were roomies. So all the people worried about the woes of losing a house - I get that but its not the end of the world. I transferred to stay with my raid team. I did what I felt was best. Losing a house isn't a big deal to me - maybe to you - but that's on you.

Well, loosing a hous it is the end of the world to some people. Everyone enjoys the game in different ways, and I dont think is right to make them choose between their houses and their friends, specially when the housing in this game it's how it is.
