the anima weapons were always equal though in ilvl to tomes weapon if you didn't raid. You'd even get the 10 ilvl upgrade during catch up patches faster than you could upgrade your tome weapon with 24 man tokens by a few weeks. So it was a viable alternative to tome weapons.
But the eureka weapons now both lag behind in ilvl and by only being added halfway trough the patch

I'm confused... Which of these is actually how building the weapon works? Do you build up the stats in increments, discarding undesirable stats? Or do you get the whole stat allocation in one random batch?

If the former, then one-in-a-million doesn't make any sense. As long as you can discard undesirable stat increments, getting a perfect 1000 weapon is a lot like overmelding materia (except you're melding two hundred materia at 1-in-4 odds, rather than five at 1-in-20 odds). If the latter, then what is Galactimus talking about?

    It's HyoMin's post that's correct

See that screen that says Parameters extracted?
You can fill up to 5 lines of that screen, each line with a random stat (out of 4-5 depending on your class) in a random amount (out of 10ish different amounts you can roll)
You can then decide if you want to keep those stats as they are on the screen, or scrap them and try from scratch
So, for the fabled +1000 crit bow for BRDs, you need to get lucky for all 5 rolls to be crit, and lucky again for those rolls to be of +200

Watch they will add another Eureka area where can upgrade it again before 5.0. Then all the rolling will been for nothing.

Yep. You can’t just pick your rolls, and you cannot discard, say, the 3rd and 4th roll because they’re undesirable, but keep the 1st, 2nd, and 5th rolls because they’re really good. When you scrap, you scrap the entire line of rolls. And the values of the substats, from what I have seen, have been as low as +80 of X substat to +200 of X substat (and they may even go lower than +80, but that’s the lowest I’ve seen in the discussions I’ve been following).

So, John is right that you need to pray hard to RNGesus for those simultaneous 5 +200 Critical Hit rolls. Considering BRD can roll substats in Critical Hit, Direct Hit, Determination, and Skill Speed (that +740 Skill Speed bow I saw was atrocious—I wanted to set fire to it).

1 in over a million chance to land +1,000 Crit on a weapon.

I heard a rumor that the substats also sync outside of Eureka, but I haven’t heard anything about the validity of that statement. I personally think it sounds ridiculous to allow for +1,000 of a single substat, but to sync it outside of the confines of Eureka; but, on the other hand, the developer team is known for questionable decisions, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the rumor has merit to it.

btw, won't the substats be capped outside of Eureka anyway?

That's what they said originally. While I have no plans to pursue relic it does make me a little curious, because typically the stat sync feature has been pretty wonky.

Like, if you roll the legendary 1000 crit how much do you have when it syncs? The current 385 weapons cap at 330 per stat with second stat at 231. So do you sync to 561 crit or is it capped at 330 since that's the highest allocation for a single stat (at i385)? Seems like if it's the later then that's a significant nerf outside eureka (actually a detriment compared to regular weapons)

That number in and of itself is wonky anyways.. 330 would be the single stat cap, but with melds you can push up to 641 total sub stats (330+231+80). But then the theoretical cap should be 330 each for a total of 660. So I'd be interested to see how it shakes out I guess. Anyone follow? Lol

(to clarify, what I'm asking is if it's really beneficial to roll +1000 into anyone stat. If it syncs it down to the single stat cap outside eureka you're really losing out in the end)
