It'd probably take you months worth of rerolls to get anything decent.

Each time you hand in one smoldering crystal (for Paladin Sword) it gives you 50+ to a random stat. I keep getting 50+ Tenacity. However, you can choose whether or not you want to keep that Tenacity, saying no destroys the Smoldering Crystal you used, but you don't have to start all over each time you get a bad stat.
I was actually not bothered by the Coven weapons back then for a few reasons:
1. It was patch.. 3.57? 3.58? Stormblood was like, a month away
2. The RNG imo was even worse than the Animals. Split between 72 people + RNG weapon choice + RNG stats? Pleeeease.
3. Diadem 2.0 was trash
This is a tad different because it's only 4.4x still and not 4.55+. It's pretty early for relics this strong. To be honest an i405 Eureka weapon would probably last even into lv80 if the stat cap is over 1,000 by then. I know RNG is RNG, but you can get lucky.
EDIT: You know, responding to you and talking about stats reminded me.. with the existence of Pyros 1,000 stat weapons, all of a sudden the possibility of the fabled 3,000 Skill Speed Machinist EXISTS!!
Somebody should do it, for science. Certainly not me. I hate Eureka.

I was referring more to how people laughed at the ridiculous way stats were allocated and then decided they weren't worth the time.I was actually not bothered by the Coven weapons back then for a few reasons:

i385 weapons would only be better than the i405 (or even the i400) for very few jobs, BRD being one of them because of crit scaling. Eureka weapons won't be i405 for a while. By the time they are, all the raiders will be done with their BiS and their parse runs so it won't matter which is “more optimal”. Just like it didn't matter when the Anima hit i275. At most, FFLogs would get a divide just like it did with the Coven weapons (and which it will already get when Alphascape Savage receives the Echo in a few months).
By the time we hit level 80, I'd wager to say our item level would jump from i400/405 to ~i420 (or somewhere thereabouts) for the artifact level 80 gear with main stats and substats scaling even higher (i270 > i290 with HW to SB). The first line of Tomestone gear would be 20 item levels above that (i430; i310 Verity with SB), and the first crafted gear would be 10 item levels above that (i440; i320 for Deltascape crafted). But before we even hit that, leveling dungeon gear would surpass the Eureka weapon in terms of weapon damage and main stat.
I don't think the weapon would last that long for most jobs based on your assessment of substats alone - any longer than the Anima did in SB, since most do not depend on substats but weapon damage and main stat. BRD is one of the very few exceptions to that rule, and who knows if it still will be in 5.0 if they decide to address Crit scaling as a whole (which is the only reason BRDs will take the i385 Suzaku bow over the i400 Genesis bow).
And MCHs everywhere just simultaneously combusted at the thought. I doubt any of them would be eager to test that build out for anything more than memes and masochism.EDIT: You know, responding to you and talking about stats reminded me.. with the existence of Pyros 1,000 stat weapons, all of a sudden the possibility of the fabled 3,000 Skill Speed Machinist EXISTS!!

Do any jobs even have any complete garbage rolls on their Omega weapons now, like DRG and DRK had on their Alexander ones?

are we really comparing a weapon that 1 out of 150 people had a chance to get from a emergency mission that required no mess ups what so ever to a relic where you just have to reroll stats

Several, actually. White Mage and Astro straight up use Tome weapons for their BiS while Machinist has alternates. Without perfect ping, you're advised to use the Tome weapon though. And even then, a lot of Machinists prefer it because SkS can mess up their rotation.
It won't save eureka. Who's gonna care what weapon is strongest when the way you get that weapon is the polar opposite of fun? I can have fun raiding and get a weapon or I can do roulletes and have fun and easily get a tome one.

i dont care. I still wont do it.
