I would say keep the class/job locks as long as it's current content. Then unlock it in the following expansion, at least to be in the role. (WHM af gear is for healers type of thing)

TBH I want everything other than AFs unlocked, but for the shortlist of things I'd love to crossglam:
Amon hat
Demon hat of casting/healing
Serpent elite's circlet
Hakuko/Kokuko Men
Astral/chivalric doublet of casting/healing
Replica dreadwyrm sets
Star Velvet sets
Replican signifier's fingerless gloves
Evenstar bootees
Farlander wings of fending
the winning set of each gear design contest
Eikonic sets (crafted, not tomestone)
Dravanian sets
Level 68 gear sets
Or just do it the right way and unlock everything that isn't artifact gear! If SE's employees will die doing something good without creating some convoluted player requirements, put it behind a side quest chain with no in-game info on how to proceed.
From the beginning I'm thinking "Popalymo has plate arms, Yda has plate legs, Neither of them are tanks!"
If I could suggest something for this thread to make the request efficient for both us and gm/dev team, we should post separetely one post per gear so that people who aggree with this can just like the post and those who have the most will highly have the chance to be reported to dev team.
But's that just a small idea
That's a process used in live letter Q/A thread so this might work better.
I don't think that any armor or clothe does represent any Job, the only think that represents a Job is the Job Stone and Job Weapon. Ex: I see no reason to lock a BLM boots, or any part, from other jobs, even the AF.
Isn't glamour a illusion cast upon the current gear? There's no logic lore reason for keep the restriction of the Job gear. It's just fashion, everybody should be able to chose how he looks, respecting the Ilvl. If there's a Paladin using a BLM robe and he is complaining that the game is a joke because of that, then he's wrong, because he was the one who chose it in the first place, same for clipping issues, that all your fault.
Now they will waste a lot of time just to note what is the most wantes piece to be unlocked bla bla... such a waste of time, just unlock it already and put the resources elsewhere.

All of the Sky Pirate sets.
I would want all gear that isn't job specific glamourable for everyone .
*sigh* I knew peeps would grab this and take it beyond Yoshi's intentions.
I would like to point out a couple of things out from this interview with Yoshi:
I already know the playerbase is going to rip this comment apart by all the available glamours for a white mage that make it look like anything but a white mage. I am not sure if what Yoshi is saying is lost in translation, but the truth here is that by allowing a WHM to glamour PLD gauntlets, is it no longer makes them belong to PLD. The job doesn't lose it's identity; the gear does.German Media : Glamour restriction seem to be very hard since you can only glamour items of your own class or fellow classes that share the item. Would it be possible in the future for example to have a White Mage being able to glamour parts of Paladin’s gear ?
Yoshida : But then it wouldn’t be a White Mage anymore !
R.O.L.M.F.A.O.German Media : The community was thinking about just some parts like hands or boots that really fits with the other outfits.
Please. If we want the forums to represent the community, it is quite clear from the posts here that they are thinking more than just hands and boots. Give an inch, take a mile. SE gave that inch long ago, and now the community demands for all restrictions to be lifted. Even AF.
This right here should let everyone know that one voice does not represent all. SE acknowledges that they have a diverse playerbase and have to make judgment calls based on their own vision of the game and player demand. They like for these to line up as much as possible, obviously.Yoshida : But everybody have their own taste, if there is one person that think that those Paladin’s gloves would fit really good with their White Mage outfit and that’s just one person opinion and some people might think that looks ridiculous.
That said, we are not completely closed to opening up certain types of equipment to make them all classes availables when it comes to the glamour system.
Do any of you honestly think SE has any intention of going over old code and fixing it to lift restrictions? Hell no they don't. That is why they have continuously released color palette swaps of recently released gear, and reusing old designs. They are however open to releasing previous designs, like say skirts of fending/striking/maiming for all classes. But several decide to express their desire for all restrictions to be lifted. This is not what he's looking for; at all. I am quite sure he is already WELL aware of this demand.

Magnai’s skimpy blue bodyguard has a NIN eyepatch, healer gloves, and caster boots… and he’s a MNK.
