The funny thing is we already have achievement points for that. But I mean, why should they do something so consumer friendly when so many people seem happy buying mogstation items?
Yes we do, not that it matters. I have everything that can be bought with achievement points and they've added nothing new to it for months. And who says people are happy to buy something from mogstation? Just become someone buy something, doesn't mean they are happy to be buying that item. I've bought stuff from the mogtation in the past that I wanted, I wasn't happy about it being there though or having to use real money. And to be honest, I get codes else where for mogstation items for way cheaper then buying from the actual mogstation (no, I'm not going to say where because I know this post will be deleted by dev LOL)
Point is, past seasonal items shouldn't be put in the mogstation. It stupid no matter how you try and shape it or break it down. New players don't even get a chance at these items unless they spend $$$ for them.
And since none of the funds from the mogstation go towards making XIV better, and don't try and argue this because if you do the math from the time mogstation went live to now, they've made well then enough money to start making this game better by now, but they haven't.
"Everyone has something they hold dear, something they never want to lose. That's why they pretend. That's why they hide the truth. And that's why they lie."
Some people are happy with a broken system. They'll settle for anything and would rather put their head down a rabbit hole then face reality. Let em keep lying to themselves that the game fine the way it is. Numbers are dropping I have no doubt. A lot of people leave quietly while some voice their leaving a little more loudly in hopes SE see that what their doing isn't helping them in the least bit.
Four times now they've repeated the same content with only changing it up some, four times that repeat in content has failed them. How many more times are they going to do it before they get the hint?
I'm sure there was thought and planning, but a lack of it.
"Everyone has something they hold dear, something they never want to lose. That's why they pretend. That's why they hide the truth. And that's why they lie."
They bee ntrying to shake it up this whole time and look what happens. people complain and say it's not good enough. Eurake, Dia, Lords and deep dungeon where all things that were added to the core and all buit like one was successful. And you trust them to change the game why? It's just going to be broken and more people complain. So leave the core alone I say.. atleast until they can get the side shit right first.I mean they're doing the same thing over and over again and it's detracting players? They've been riding the same: New tomestone, new dungeon, farm said tomestone to get your upgrades, cap, do normal raids etc etc, it's the same as HW and it's predictable they need something new to shake up how we gear up. You can't even properly gear alts unless you want to invest or craft your own gear, weekly caps are the carrot on the stick to keep you playing but for what? They're just stats nothing else unless you fancy the glamour from the new raids then have at it.
Eureka was planned and it was a flop what's your point? It was supposed to be something new but it was deceit, Diadem 3.0 is what we got and agreeing with the OP it's HW but worse, it's a forced relic grind that is in no shape or form entertaining. Just because they tried something new doesn't mean there wasn't planning, albeit poor, tested the way they wanted you to play but there wasn't much thought behind it tbh it's just Diadem but with just mob smacking with RNG involved.
They need to do something to shake up the game in 5.0, a new way to gear up, a new way to evolve our characters this same old tomestone grind is the most basic, boring way to grind why not do something new? What's wrong with that? I've been wanting new since the end of HW and quite frankly this expansion has been the most boring predictable expansion we've ever had and now they've dug themselves a hole that if they keep playing safe they're going to lose more people (myself included) as the interest is declining.
No they have not. They did some changes going from ARR to HW, (while most of HW was repeating the final ARR patches) but SB is a complete copy of HW, why do you keep saying "They bee ntrying to shake it up this whole time and look what happens." when they have not? is FFXIV the only game you ever played or something? They bee ntrying to shake it up this whole time and look what happens. people complain and say it's not good enough. I mean they are not trying at all, look at the "progress" (lack of) with the second eureka. If they where trying of any kind of degree, they would of put stuff in it like level sync and other attempts to improve it, not change it to try make the player base play yoshi-p eureka, you saw the backlash on that, and they made quick small changes to try make it more tolerable. The main problem is Dev stubbornness, player base says one thing, they say no you will like this, and the same complaints just pop up. That is not trying.

Is this another one of those "the game is dying" threads...?
I mean, it kiiiinda looks that way from over here.
There's leaving feedback and then there's being a drama queen. This entire thread is the latter. When people leave, there is a reason. not a random choice.
It can be fully personnal. And then yes, no way to get the reason about it, it is personnal.
It can be due to the game, to thing abouth the game, and then, if you really liked, or loved the game, it is more honest, and better for the game to say why.
Even if this game was objectively "the best of the whole world" it wouldnt be perfect. And, you know a way to improve when people point what they dislike. (after it can be a thought the leaver is the only one to get so... maybe nothing to change so)
When some criticism get from many mouths, it is silly to consider those people are just dumb, or spoiiled babies or anything else. And i can understand that some people love the way the game is now, they can love this treadmill. But it the "complainers" right to complain, even more when they are leaving.
When you dislike a game you bought on steam, you can get refound, when you do this, there is a place to say why (first a list of global reason (dislike/notwork/etcetc) and another to say speciffically why.
If No Man's sky get finally good, it is because of many angry people that did stop playing AND saying the matters.
Lets imagine, only "FFXIV is so wonderful" on forum, reddit and elsewhere. but always people are going away, with no reason. finally get the time the game have less and less people, but without saying why. How can SE fix this?
Someone mad lol
Also, may wanna chill on your language before you find yourself with a nice few day ban. Just saying!
(@Ko_ btw)

Sounds like you agree entirely with your "friend" there. No they have not. Sounds like you both aren't having a good time.
Maybe you'd have a better time in a game where you don't feel the need to say the dev team isn't trying just because they tired something new and it flopped.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Maybe you should "both" go play something else for a while and give them time to sort all of these things out.
Be careful, I know someone who hot a temp ban for saying "lol mad" so like... It's a real crapshoot either way.
Dev need to meet their quota every month lol I've been temp banned just for saying "shut up" to someone and that wasn't even aggressive like Ko_ being, so yeah, I know how they can be.
