Few close friends quit FFXIV, one wants to explain why, hopes SE improves the game

I mean they're doing the same thing over and over again and it's detracting players? They've been riding the same: New tomestone, new dungeon, farm said tomestone to get your upgrades, cap, do normal raids etc etc, it's the same as HW and it's predictable they need something new to shake up how we gear up. You can't even properly gear alts unless you want to invest or craft your own gear, weekly caps are the carrot on the stick to keep you playing but for what? They're just stats nothing else unless you fancy the glamour from the new raids then have at it.



Eureka was planned and it was a flop what's your point? It was supposed to be something new but it was deceit, Diadem 3.0 is what we got and agreeing with the OP it's HW but worse, it's a forced relic grind that is in no shape or form entertaining. Just because they tried something new doesn't mean there wasn't planning, albeit poor, tested the way they wanted you to play but there wasn't much thought behind it tbh it's just Diadem but with just mob smacking with RNG involved.

They need to do something to shake up the game in 5.0, a new way to gear up, a new way to evolve our characters this same old tomestone grind is the most basic, boring way to grind why not do something new? What's wrong with that? I've been wanting new since the end of HW and quite frankly this expansion has been the most boring predictable expansion we've ever had and now they've dug themselves a hole that if they keep playing safe they're going to lose more people (myself included) as the interest is declining.

Eurake, Dia, Lords and deep dungeon where all things that were added to the core and all buit like one was successful. And you trust them to change the game why? It's just going to be broken and more people complain. So leave the core alone I say.. atleast until they can get the side shit right first.

They did some changes going from ARR to HW, (while most of HW was repeating the final ARR patches) but SB is a complete copy of HW, why do you keep saying "They bee ntrying to shake it up this whole time and look what happens." when they have not? is FFXIV the only game you ever played or something?

I mean they are not trying at all, look at the "progress" (lack of) with the second eureka. If they where trying of any kind of degree, they would of put stuff in it like level sync and other attempts to improve it, not change it to try make the player base play yoshi-p eureka, you saw the backlash on that, and they made quick small changes to try make it more tolerable. The main problem is Dev stubbornness, player base says one thing, they say no you will like this, and the same complaints just pop up. That is not trying.

Maybe you'd have a better time in a game where you don't feel the need to say the dev team isn't trying just because they tired something new and it flopped.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Maybe you should "both" go play something else for a while and give them time to sort all of these things out.

Dev need to meet their quota every month lol I've been temp banned just for saying "shut up" to someone and that wasn't even aggressive like Ko_ being, so yeah, I know how they can be.

This. Trying something and having it flop doesn't mean that you tried something new in the first place. Just as often XIV side-projects have flopped specifically because they never bothered to change directions from, or even meaningfully reiterate upon, past mistakes. LoV and RW are perhaps the only truly unique side-contents. Every other project met with significant criticism has been repeated almost verbatim despite that.

No offense, but copy/pasting a bunch of trash mobs with existing models and tossing them into a new zone with turned up HP and defense values isn't exactly what I'd call trying. Eureka is so bare bones, you could mistake it for an indie dev project. There is literally nothing innovation of new about Eureka. It borrows everything from existing material, including Diadem—itself a glorified FATE farm. Changing things up would be increasing the raids to six fights per tier, adding accessories to Primals ala Lakshmi, developing world content and etc. With that all said, there is nothing inherently wrong with re-purposing existing content. It's both cost efficient and necessary. And had they listened to player feedback in regards to Pagos, things may have gone better. When they don't bother to even develop a player sync feature, let alone quests or really anything except yet another uncreative light farm. Don't tell me they're "trying new things!"

I am still subbed. I am still under my 6 month sub and playing when I can, going after achivments. It is just I am playing much less now and just feels less rewarding because of what my friends are saying, just the same thing over and over again. Keep in mind, this is about more then one friend, so friends without the quotes would of been better. they are unsubbed, hence the pictures one made me post for them to show this.
