Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
It would be nice, i dont think be possible. As it would likely be a choice of "work tough on server" "work on game improvements/content".
More people want stuff regarding the games content and what you play, not backend changes that they cannot see, but does affect them.
I want more than anything is server fixes, but then the question remains that even if they did lots of server changes they will likely need to fix the game to work with those changes, which is easier when making a new game that is built for the fixed servers, so... that is what they are doing it seems.
They likely have completely different setup for the new servers and have it all complete, just still building tools for it and still building v2. As the v1 is incompatible with it.
I will be paying, but only to get the story aspects. Do I feel it's worth it? No, but I'll do it anyway. The point is, I won't be happy about it because I won't be enjoying the game as a whole.

Could we perhaps stop using these stock insults on each other like White Knight and Whiner? It seriously undermines the actual ideals and points that people are trying to make and puts a damper on communication. We need communication in order to reach better understanding of each others views and opinions, which allows us to better convey input that will be good for the FFXIV community as a whole.
And as to avoid being a hypocrite, let me make a serious response.
I understand the anxiety of waiting a whole year for the server issues to be fixed, but there's just no way they can shave off 6 months of preparation to accommodate the 1.X game. The server setup is being designed around how FFXIV will be in 2.0. It will be ready when it's ready, and certainly not 6 months before. I mean it's not like they finished it and are just sitting on their hands till the release date. You can't really get an "advance" on these things.
If you're not enjoying something, throwing money at it is just about the last thing you should do. If you want the story, just check you tube.

How many people have you said that too? 100? How many people have also said same, 50?, SE thanks you for losing them $150'000 XD. (Seems low, but think of it as a chain reaction... friends of friends....)
I'm just kidding but the whole community telling people to GTFO rather than giving them a reason to stay is bad for SE who is trying so hard to keep everyone.
But it also sends a much stronger message.
I wouldn't worry too much about Square's funds for FFXIV at the moment. I don't think they're expecting to make much till 2.0 which they are proven to be committed to even with very little money coming in, it will still be more than they have been making the past year. If they're still having problems during 2.0, that's reason to worry.
These threads about "I don't want to pay for..." are so asinine and ridiculous.
It has been explicitly said, pay for the game if you feel it's worthy.
Since you don't feel it's worthy, don't pay until the new server structure is implemented. Problem solved.
