The voice was definitely male, though. I really don't think Minfilia or even Hydaelyn had anything to do with it. Given that he was speaking about the future with such certainty, he may even be a character we're interacting with now, who is trying to contact us from the future. Honestly, my first thought (if it is a case of time travel) was that it's Alphy's future self trying to warn us of some big screw-up we're about to make that fouls up the whole timeline.

My theory is that it’s the WoD, we know that in his world he defeated the Ascians and that flooded the world with light, it’s possible that his timeline was ahead of ours and we are now living the events that lead to that end for the WoD and he’s trying to make us change it.

Black Rose, which was also a blue marked Quest, was mentioned by Totally Not Gaius Van Baelsar, at the end of this patch. Yes, Sui-No-Sato is side content, but it also was an Ascian Machination sidequest.

As has been said, it’s different circumstances, in the shisui quest her soul was just “floating” around in the world and the potion kinda brought it back, while in this case the soul has been sucked out of the dimension, it’s like comparing sucking up dust with a vacuum to sucking dust through a wall with a vacuum.

As for Black Rose, whether we do the quest or not is irrelevant as not-Gaius knows about Black Rose regardless of if we do. But for us to know to even try the potion we’d have to do the quest to have that knowledge.

I may be miss-remembering the voice...but didn't it sound kind of like the WoD Warrior? It has been a while since I've done any quests with that voice over...but it just sounded familiar to the way that Warrior spoke.

At least in French, it sounded nothing like him. Problem is, they changed several voice actors back in the past, so it's still a possibility.
