I'm more worried about Thancred as thankfully they brought it up again that his aether is already compromised. It's the reason why he didn't come with us during anti tower. The poor man has been posessd, had a forbiden teleport magic cast on him and now this. All the while feeling like he has to up his workload because of his aether being compromised.

Should we talk about "lasting effects" on Haurchefant, Ysayle, Minfilia and Papalymo ?

For Y'shtola, the only thing that bugged me was the scene where we look throug her eyes. My guess is that since she's forced to use her aether to compensate, she shouldn't "see" exactly like she would with working eyes. It should be more like a Matrix thing.

Someone had mentioned in a different thread about the reason Y'shtola and Urianger got their souls ripped just to cut support from the WoL.

Think about it, Y'shtola has strong sensitivity towards aether after floating in the Lifestream for quite awhile which this would make it hard for the Ascians to do any sneak attacks undetected. Urianger has some knowledge about the Ascians after doing research and working with Elidibus part time; he would give the warning on what the Ascians are about to do next. This voice or whoever's doing this is taking out the ones who knows too much which means it's going to be hard on us to figure out our enemy's next move.

Right now unless you count a calamity survivor Wol, all the veteran Scions are down for the count one way or another, and of the remaining new members only Krille might be useful, Allisae skills are not suited for investigation.

And sadly the Wol is unable to do anything by him/herself unless someone points the way (if possible with something to slay along the way) so the Wol presence only will help as long as the solution is presented by someone else

While Zodiark is a good theory, remember that whoever is trying to contact us is doing so as a warning. And not just about a calamity of "light" as happened on the First, but twin calamities that we (the WoL) have to somehow thread our way between. I really doubt whether Zodiark would warn us, even vaguely, about something he was planning. It just wouldn't make sense. I really feel that whoever is talking to us, the only agenda they have is maintaining the status quo.

For all we know the "called" Scions are an accident. Thancred was stated outright to only have collapsed because he was already in a weakened condition. Whoever is contacting us is obviously having a great deal of difficulty in doing so, maybe the other scions' bodies just couldn't handle the strain of a second message. If this whole message thing persists in the next patch(es), I believe we are going to see Alisaie drop as well (maybe Krile or other Scions too) until finally we ourselves can't resist it any more and our consciousness finally leaves our body to whatever plane of existence the caller is on, and that's when we finally find out what the heck is going on.

I honestly had the same thought. Her Aether sight would have busted most of Zenos's and the Ascian's post 4.0 plans and twists. I think they have no idea how to handle her and just write her out when it is coinvenient.


Then again I am absolutely not objective on that because she is best Scion and best Miqo.

It would be really cool if they would give us the opportunity to rescue one Scion in the 4.5 patch and that would be our companion for the next expac MSQ.

It could be their souls were called by Minfilia to the shard where the WoD are.

I may be miss-remembering the voice...but didn't it sound kind of like the WoD Warrior? It has been a while since I've done any quests with that voice over...but it just sounded familiar to the way that Warrior spoke.

At least in French, it sounded nothing like him. Problem is, they changed several voice actors back in the past, so it's still a possibility.
