I mean it's nice and all that everyone's trying to be supportive, but op asked for advice on how to improve . . . Telling them they perfect as is is both disingenuous and unhelpful to the op. Without knowing what you want to "main" my only real tip would be to focus on just a couple of classes to master. Part of growing as a player is moving beyond focusing on your rotation so that you can learn to adapt to fights better (mistakes by others or yourself, new mechanics, adapting the dps rotation for a specific encounter). You seem to play pretty much all your jobs, but none of them to a really high level. Once you improve your situational awareness, you'll improve your play overall. That being said, the ravana group was a bunch of jerks, and i think you may have had some wires crossed / misunderstanding with what happened in your o5n group.

Op is posting on an alt or plays on an alt. Anyway the poster is not the 'real character' so you don't really need to stalk his lodestone character.

'How can I improve' is really hard to answer without more info. Explaining rotation for example won't help because he knows all that.

In what the OP said there is nothing to improve on. He did nothing wrong. Sure he could have used diversion (and DPS need to use their enmity reduction tools so tanks can DPS stance longer if DPS players are catching up on the tanks shirk/vote enmity), but then the boss would have just killed the other player next in the enmity lists.

Op has knowledge and can play, but in this post the only conclusion is that he ran with bad toxic players that should be put on blacklist and forget about.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Perhaps you should look at the title of the thread? Not giving any advice certainly doesn't qualify as fulfilling the general request. I mean it's totally possible the OP just wants people to comfort them after a run in with mean players, but I choose to think they are genuinely seeking advice, not attention whoring.

Yet they weren't seeking advice on the fighting aspect of things but more of how to be a better player/person. So, how would you say they get better at doing that with how Ravana turned out? They know their mistakes in both instances given, but ended up feeling that they must have not been a good person because they got trolled or blamed for a wipe that didn't start with their mistake.

They asked for general advice, not advice on how to fix the problems they encountered. Several people in this thread addressed that, but more, especially initially in this thread, ignored the request and just told the op "all's well on your end, you don't need to improve." Not going to continue arguing the point as it's not constructive to the ops request, but mollycoddling doesn't help anyone get better.

Kaiva's cleared some savage fights with their SMN. I mean, I'm not saying they are ace, but I think they know generally about how to play a class and how to find info about it. Right now there there's nothing to critique; both examples were not their fault, and there's no evidence that they are a bad player. If it's about specific issues to NIN, the job forums can help with that. But pre 70 too, there really isn't this push or expectation to worry about being bad; you're kind of learning each class as you do it, and only at 70 do the pieces come together for many classes.

Idk, to be honest too unless you want to make it a new main, it's not really possible to expect to be top tier at everything. I mean, it's ok to be play classes for fun too, you don't have to keep a relentless drive for self-improvement on everything, or you can burn yourself out.

You are definitely right but there is nothing from advice to give at this point and based on what he said.

He could have used Diversion yes but the other DPS would just have been killed then. The party just required a black sheep and he was the target. There's nothing about I need help with rotation or what to do here, etc.
I don't know if you know this guy but he's pretty good.
He can do 10 successful runs and nobody complaining and all good, but then he gets in a run where's mistakes and were there's bad people and he comes immediately crying on the forums.

I've said it already but I'll say it again, he needs to learn to blacklist bad toxic people and ignore them.

@OP, please stop. Put those people on blacklist and ignore the toxic they sprew.
Making a mistake does not make you a bad player. Those worlds first people they can make mistakes too and they need to learn new mechanics and fights too. And in the post you've put you didn't even do anything wrong. You're a good player.

Please put those toxic people on blacklist and move on.
