Yeah, I didn't really want to punch him in the context of that scene, but I did want to slap him upside the head for just sitting there and watching the guard shoot that woman twice for just speaking before asking him what he's doing.

I don’t think that’s a fair description of what he did. He made the poor choice of simply ordering the guard to “do something”, but that ties in with the broader plot point that he tends to sit back and let other people make difficult decisions for him - and in this case he’s horrified by what that decision was. It’s clear he didn’t expect the guard to shoot her - let alone a second time, when he’s possibly too shocked to respond.
Yeah and we should not forget that the death of one of his brothers was still quite fresh at that point, he was not used to being in charge because of his status as baby brother and he just simply panicked. Thancred himself was also just quite frustated at that point and also just took it out on him. I am not fine that they showed the WoL with a fist too because I honestly just felt bad for him. Because its like you said, he was not ready telling the guard to shot her but just to do something and seeing how this was in a rebellion where the WoL already got poisoned and probably quite some people injured, its not like its completely out of the realm to shot her. (And it was not a deathly one either) I mean yes the best solution would have been to just arrest her somehow but he again was never really in charge of anything anyway and never have been in such conflicts.I don’t think that’s a fair description of what he did. I dont really want to slap many NPCs (but I do wanna talk some down and tell them to be more respectful to either the WoL or other people) but I wish the WoL would stop letting people get away. At the beginning and through SB where we somehow just let that Roe run away, felt just too strange. This was an enemy that was going to kill us. We were at war..at least take him out and arrest him if you dont outright kill him. But letting him run away felt like I was just watching that one part of Hildibrand with the old people..
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
