Can I beat up an NPC in the story eventually?

Between certain jerk NPCs or cackling villains, there are so many characters in this game that I've wanted to give a slap at one point or another. And the closest I've gotten is a Moogle who I had to craft an apology gift for afterwards!

Can't I just hit Ramza? He's such a jerk to everyone, even his own family!

Alternatively, the dramaturge who brought back the Winequest from Titan's storyline.

Ramza's great. He's far more interesting than his sister whose only major contribution thus far has been to cry in response to...pretty much everything.

As for the Wandering Dramaturge, he's basically the equivalent of the Wandering Minstrel...for the guy who is responsible for much of Ivalice. Since the entire raid series has been a love letter for Ivalice fans, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth to see people get so enraged by what is a minor inconvenience at best.

Curious Gorge, he makes the WAR quests more annoying than they should be, can't wait for the next expansion where we get to watch him be a complete whiny bitch again. I couldn't even get behind his romance with whats her face because all he does is bitch and moan about his ineptitude.

Wish we could just slap him and tell him to stop being a mopey crybaby every time he gets a pebble in his shoe.

I'd love to go back and actually be able to hit Trachtoum. That's the guy who beat "Tidus" and "Leviabeetus". The first time you encounter him, you basically get put in a deliberately unfair fight ... against a rock.

Generally speaking, how badly you want to smash an NPC's face in is inversely proportional to how likely the game will give you the chance to do so.

If the game requires that they die, it will either be not by your hand, through an uncontrollable cuscene, or both.
