The only issue with the pvp are the pvp communities themselves. A lot of people out there like competing and wouldn't mind spending time trying to climb elo, but the average pvper turned the competition grounds of every single online game into an insult/afk fest that most people are aware of and avoid for sanity reasons. A terrible place filled with terrible people. Every losing team is always bashed, insulted or chat spammed by someone. Every, single, time. No reward is gonna make up for this. SE is perfectly aware and the SB PvP revamp was precisely aimed to partially solve this. Complete chat disable (the community must certainly feel very proud of it) and a massive reduction of the skills available to try and make things more simple and accessible for the casual player. What's the result? The average pvper (far from learning a thing after the chat lock) still finding ways to harass through afk or mark emote spam and the newcomer completely dissuaded by a normalized terrible behaviour that is given in almost every pvp match.

Personally, I think they should make the old rewards available, and not through ranked but normal. In normal games the mood completely changes and the kind of people there plays the mode to legitimately have fun. All SE has to do is lock the rewards behind achievements that can't realistically be obtained through botting.
