The strength of a very vocal minority it seems.I can't be the only one horrified Yoshida felt the need to come into this ridiculous thread to apologize. I hope he read or had someone read the entire thread to him so he's aware this is not 100+ pages of upset players. This thread has a few entitled 1.0 players who are vastly outnumbered by the mixed effort of reasonable 1.0 players and 2.0 players trying to get naysayers to chill.
Probably a new supporter perhaps

Yeah. I'm not convinced those complaining about the earrings even enjoy the game to the extent that they claim. If they truly enjoyed it then they wouldn't need to desperately cling to something they did six years ago and demand exclusivity through ultimatums. Instead they would be eagerly encouraging the developers to give players who started after 2.0 more of a taste of what 1.0 had to offer.
When I come to enjoy something, I like to share it with friends and family. Even strangers, at times. As it stands, I feel like I need to give the Lord of the Rings movies another watch because reading this thread has made me think of Gollum...

It's not clinging to an item, it's being able to trust the developers to keep their word that when they say something was exclusive, it stays that way.
Second, the fact they even recycled an old item, which has nothing to do with what the event really entails is also disturbing. Lets just make a quest and find something so we can waste little development time as possible for celebrating five years.
This was a miss, no denying that. The fact he had to apologize for it says our voices are being heard and he agrees.
Arguably implying this is the first time they did that. I wonder how many people in this thread were overjoyed when the Moogle outfit made its way to the mog station, despite previously being a fanfest exclusive. Either way, things losing exclusivity have a precedence in the game, whether it was something "taken from" you, or made accessible to you.
>> Event remembering 1.0 and the Calamity, and what things were like prior, this time explicitly trying to recreate some of the mood of 1.0 towards the endSecond, the fact they even recycled an old item, which has nothing to do with what the event really entails--
>> Gives 1.0 items
Has nothing to do with it...?
One does not mean the other. They've released Antiquated and Replica items before. The fact they completely overlooked something like this, which in my opinion should've been pretty obvious, shows how important it is to the developers - it's not. But the outcry is enough to get a response out of them. The fact he had to apologize for it says our voices are being heard and he agrees.
It's a little concerning that you're so worked up over the earrings when your join date puts you as someone who did not even start in 1.0.
That's even more baffling than those complaining who did play back in 1.0. For the record, I don't even plan to use the earrings. I'll be throwing them in my armoire at the first opportunity. I did, however, appreciate the fact that the development team wanted to give players who starts in 2.0 and beyond a little taste of 1.0.
It's a real shame that they were essentially coerced into apologising. They did nothing wrong and some of the loudest voices were driven by entitlement and a selfish desire to be 'exclusive' whilst others were getting outraged on behalf of the vocal minority and completely ignoring the 1.0 players who spoke up and said they had no issue with the move.
Does your troll handbook say to use the words "vocal minority" in every post? It's a little concerning that you're so worked up over the earrings when your join date puts you as someone who did not even start in 1.0.

Decent bait otherwise, keep up the good work.![]()
