You saying that raiding isn't done because it's not fun is entirely subjective, especially since you even don't raid.I don't like people calling others embarassments because they think they are more skilled. TBH raiding in this game is not done not because its too hard, but because it's not fun. There are a lot of skilled players outside the raid culture that simply don't bother with raiding because of that; people who don't want to commit to a static, people who think leaderboards are stupid, people who dislike the need for third party apps to maintain parity (hint, a lot of games don't use or don't touch them at all).
You should really stop projecting your feelings as facts. They're not.
You've lost the argument, you have no points. Stop.
Most people in this game don't raid. You can see this by clear rates, pug advertisements, and by how many members in an FC raid to the total amount.
People who don't raid generally know why they don't raid.
It boils down to fun, since this raid system to its credit, doesn't put a tremendous amount of timesinks before you get to raiding. It doesn't need you to spend 6 hours in sky getting a pop item for a 30 min fight. In FFXI, a lot of people didnt raid due to time burden.
When i was talking, it was in the context of people who don't raid. Not people who do.
I think if we're playing the "i'm skilled" card to denigrate others, I should offer the chance to prove it. I have to back up my words that I think casuals can be as skilled as raiders, so I need to offer it. So I'm giving the chance to be kicked, in other words. I said something out there, so I need to prove it, and the content isn't fun enough for me to do so on my own initiative. Well, that and someone else refereeing probably would be best, i don't think we have a "link achievements" in this game.
Unfortunately i am not on aether or i would do so with dual, bourne, etc. But anyone on primal. I'm sorry for heated rhetoric, but I don't like people calling others embarassments, and i'm happy to prove that even as a casual, i can understand and do raids just as good as the lot of you. Hmm. The only issue is i don't want to beat it because it makes me look like i want a carry; i had one issue with someone inviting me for the first time on a raid when they all had it on farm and i had never stepped inside of it.

It doesn't matter. You cannot speak for anyone. You're not their spokesperson and what you find fun is entirely subjective as is my opinion. But, you cannot speak for others with a 100% certainty unless you have personally spoken to every single player within this game from all three regions. Most people in this game don't raid. You can see this by clear rates, pug advertisements, and by how many members in an FC raid to the total amount.

Most people i talked to who don't raid, do so because they feel it isn't rewarding. 6 month and all gear is worthless and you can get the same ilvl just by grinding your weeklies. Most people in this game don't raid. Fun is one of the lesser reasons for people to not raid.
And even if it wouldn't be fun, for the right rewards most would porbably do it then but not with the current gear progression.

I never played the "I'm skilled" card, not once towards you. You took it personally from the very beginning. I'm allowed to say, based on my numbers, that I'm more skilled than the average casual person. That's it. I'm allowed to say that, I have the physical evidence to prove it right there on fflogs. And also by those numbers, I can also say that I'm no where NEAR the best, but I'm at least competent in trying to improve. I never called you an embarrassment, I called out your tone and your logic. There's a difference. Most people in this game don't raid. You can see this by clear rates, pug advertisements, and by how many members in an FC raid to the total amount.

You are literally looking for things that are not there.
I don't need to really argue any more. I said something myself that needs to be proven, more than what you said, so I have to prove it. You're welcome to referee. I won't derail the thread any further, since the thing that got me heated was your "someone who never sets foot in a raid" is what set me off, and i should apologize for getting heated over that.
I can appreciate things get heated on the forums. And if I had a primal alt I'd take you up on that. But the thing you need to wrap your head around is nobody called you an embarrassment; Sigma-Astra was talking about your post, on which was incorrect information that you were doubling down on.Unfortunately i am not on aether or i would do so with dual, bourne, etc. But anyone on primal. I think my soul died once or twice. That count?
This is the same team that gave us a complicated multi-day rng-based chocobo feed system for dying our bird companions. Rather than just like, dumping a pot of dye on them, which would have been so much simpler.

Only bodies count
That for sure.
So for OP:
I think the game got a little stale. All following points are my own opinion, some may be facts but i don't consider them as facts for this discussion.
First, the ilvl curve got steeper and old gear is even more powerless since back in ARR.
They should shorten the ilvl gaps and pull down the new gear on the same ilvl then the previous gear.
Also the crafted gear should be more available and easier to be made for entry ilvl but a second set of crafted gear just below raid gear for min/maxer to form BiS and with rare materials to craft and a steep requirement level.
Second, the content is to far spread. There is always only on content current, even if i don't like it i have to play it or i have to wait a month to get a chance to get content i like to play.
Also most content seems based upon simple and dull grind. Even dungeons are simple and have less of critical mechanics then before, at least it feels like that and mostly it is more about a difference in appearance then in mechanical solutions.
Third, it seems like there is a missing of midcore content. Yes, there are ExTrials and even the lower levels of Savage but it either learning and farming till you have weapons + mount or just a weekly thing, nothing really lasting or rewarding for midcoreplayers like myself.
Fourth, the textures of this game are...old...i think is the right word, they are not really pleasing, especially if you compare older gear with newer gear and it seams the textures got lower in quality.
Fifth, the job synergy within the jobs is really hard missing while leveling. The jobs are playing only really well at max level or with special key skills in the middle of the 60s. The feeling is just off on some jobs more then on others.
I think the jobs should get a complete reconstruction to make the leveling more smooth and cut out this spanns when they feel off or even worse just incomplete.
my 2 cent on the state of FFXIV.

Have you found six other people who are willing to do the hard raids without tools?
