I will agree sure it could have been handled differently keeping the same earning and naming it replica while adding some flavor text that makes reference to the original paying homage to those that took part in the content would have bee nice for such an event. In the end I have no dog in this race, truth be told I did not even know about item until it was mentioned and I thought it was created for the event. In the end though only person that can devalue an accomplishment is the person that achieved the accomplishment. If wish for the earnings to mean something then so be it, only thing that changes with others having the item is that it is no longer unique, but who wants to be a special snowflake anyways.

I love reading this thread. All these butthurt 1.0 players over something glamour related and even some saying they have nothing else to separate them from the 2.0 players. You Legacy players have the legacy chocobo mount, the neck tattoo, and not to mention the ever so coveted and wonderous sub discount.

So yeah, if you wanna complain about a piece of glamour being handed out, then you are quite full of yourself. Its like saying you were one of the 1st people to try a new piece of candy and then complaining when it shows up in candy stores for everyone.

No one cares about how you had to clear the "1.0 ultimate fight" for these little things. You can still live with knowing you got them that way. That never changed. Just remember at how ludicrous the requirements for XIV 1.0 were. You needed a high end PC at the time to even run the game. Not everyone had the thousand dollars to make a PC like that.

You played 1.0 and you got the earrings then. Grow up and stop being butthurt. You still have those other 3 things I listed.

Participation rewards....not earned.

Um, no. I get that you feel let down that these earrings are being made available, and I can empathize, but the dev team has set the rewards and the requirements for earning them in this event. And if that person you quoted participates in the event and meets those requirements, then they have earned and deserve the rewards. You don’t get to decide that. The game will. Matter of fact, the only way to tell if someone has earned the thing or not is that if they have the thing then they have obviously put forth whatever effort and/or met whatever requirements were necessary to obtain that thing regardless if it measures up to your expectations or not.

That’s your opinion, but is it how the devs designed the event?

It can be considered a bit rude to go around telling others that they don’t deserve/can never earn rewards that they are being given an opportunity to get, simply because you don’t like that they have that opportunity (general you, of course). It isn’t their fault that the devs decided to do this.

Case and point.

You simply label people offended, throwing hissy fits, falling to pieces, full of themselves, and you mock them in order to try to devalue their position. The only reason you would feel the need to do this is because you obviously aren't confident in your position, but in the end it just looks bad on you.

Making an observation about your behavior doesn't mean I am offended, but you proved my point so, I guess that works for me. /shrug
