It is not a decision I support, especially after they went on record saying that the items are exclusive to the seventh umbral era event. say what you will about companies not being your friend or the need to get a buck, this is wrong to me as a person that invested in the legacy campaign. Loyalty and effort is being put on sale here, and I find it just as disrespectful as puttung a raid tier item on sale.

I agree with you that it's disrespectful, but it's the same line we were given about the moogle outfit from the first fanfest - that it was exclusive to those who supported that fanfest. We saw how that went. Edited just enough to bring in more money in the long run and slapped right up on the cash shop, and I've pretty much made up my mind not to buy into the next fanfest because of how we were treated. My trust in SE is gone. I play this game because I like it better than most other things on the market today, but this is a complaint that I have about the general direction this game seems to be headed, not just about exclusives.

And again, this can be easily fixed with a different item, or making this item a replica. don't tell me this was the only thing ps4 limitations(or whatever the current problem is) will allow.

IMO, SE have proven time and time again through repeatedly adding inventory for real money transactions that they aren't that limited by the game, hardware, whatever. But it does come down to what they want to do and they seem to have made their decision.

The event has been live for a few hours now, and the npc needed to spawn the instance has not spawned from what I have seen. There, it is just as hard to get the earrings now as it was in 1.0 irt getting a party to go in. Now you can also relive waiting for a party to get in to the instance, just with waiting for the npc to spawn.

to which I'll add, I'm not even going to bother with it cause they're just dumb earrings and 100% not worth waiting around for a FATE to pop and try to farm 50 tokens, maybe if the FATE gives me 50 token for gold.

The only downside to this is the people who desperately bring up at every opportunity that they've been playing since 1.0 will now do it even more frequently.

It's a game. Don't attach ego and personal pride to pixels and polygons.

I for one am happy to have a chance to get these. I would loved to have played 1.0, unfortunately, #1 I didn't have a computer that would support the game at the time, and #2 I was dirt poor and unable to afford net that would allow me to play it or the sub.

The white ravens were trophies for those who cleared the fight in 1.0, so it just seems like a slap in the face to just hand them out during an event. It would be like if next year they decided to give out the #1 rank feast trophy furnishings for The Rising. I'm sure the people who earned that legitimately would not appreciate them handing it out.

Would have been better off just naming it "replica" so it wouldn't be such an issue, but it seems like that isn't going to happen.

You mean the part where it's celebrating FFXIV's past and future and a bunch of 1.0 players are clutching their pearls and screaming bloody murder over new players obtaining a pair of unremarkable earrings because it has been revealed they're not actually the center of the universe like they had thought?

You are really full of yourself I must say, after reading this entire thread and seeing you argue with other players. We are not full of ourselves, we have no title like today's Ultimate clearers, just those earrings, which SE has now taken away from us after making the event in 1.0 a limited time thing since the servers were going down and that fight would never be brought back into the game. Their words to us back then. We are more upset over what to us looks like a promise broken than anything. They weren't unremarkable in 1.0 genius, just look their original stats up. They were considered BIS in that time. The stats were only changed to nothing remarkable for ARR.

So were Binding Coil armours (less valuable than the Replica gear, since those can be dyed), weapons (same situation as the armour. Also the Heaven-on-High weapons are reskins of the Second Coil weapons) and titles. Now people can just unsync it.

honestly, i'm not bothered about 1.0 items being made rising rewards. i always felt exclusive items were terrible. that being said, the earrings are kind of meh for me, earring glams don't really work on my au'ra. would have rather gotten any other kind of glam/an emote/furniture. also it's not like they're giving out Legacy tattoos and Legacy sub discounts, and they sure as heck aren't putting the names of every non-legacy player in the legacy player "thank you" section of the credits. y'all are just whining.

I got the earrings. They're not even looking special & I can't even see them on my character.
But please, go on and be butthurt over a few pixels for something you've done ages ago.

P.S. Hey 1.0 players, still enjoying the legacy sub? Must be less worth than those earrings you're making a fuss about.
