You actually can if you can find an old copy of 1.0 with the code in it. Even though it says it's expired if you punch it in enough times mogstation will eventually accept it. This also works with expired minion codes.
"I played a game that nearly destroyed its developer and not only do I now save money on my continuing to play the relaunch, but I have this item that literally no one cared about it until now and I'm angry. Please validate me."
Honestly the white raven hard mode used to be very tough back in the day and only the craziest players who did actually commit to the horrible primal/dungeons/hamlet farming in V1.X did get to do it. So as a player who used to play back in the day but didn't complete that particular hard mode, I'd be currently really pissed off by this promotion if I got the earring back in the day.
On the other hand, I don't really think a lot of players who actually did complete that trial back in the day are actually still playing now.
Haha, like someone else may have mentioned, I think you might still be able to find old codes for them!
That being said, if they started giving these goggles out for an event, I'd be a little upset!
Though I might be the only one against that event...

You guys went through a difficult fight just to get earrings with slashing resistance and nothing else?!
and you think you’re being ripped off now...
There are still some of us playing, but yeah probably few. I only have a few friends left in game that earned their Ravens. It doesn't piss me off that their available for free because I've learned that's just what they do with this game with everything. While I don't agree with that decision they have chose, it is what it is.Honestly the white raven hard mode used to be very tough back in the day and only the craziest players who did actually commit to the horrible primal/dungeons/hamlet farming in V1.X did get to do it. As Canadane has pointed out though, this shouldn't have even turned into a Legacy vs. 2.0 debate. This is about an exclusive reward for a hard fight being given out for nothing. It can happen in ARR as well in 5 more years when they hand out gold Bahamut weapons.
Actually they were the best damn earrings in the game at the time. It was only in ARR that their stats got nerfed to uselessness. Compared to the stat bloat of today they probably look laughable but in 1.0 they were uncontested.

If a technical glitch happens and they have to remove the Ultimate coil fight from the game entirely (silly, but that's the closest analogue to discontinuing 1.0) they would absolutely make the gold weapons available to everyone after a while, though. There are still some of us playing, but yeah probably few. I don't know man. It doesn't have to be unavailable to hand them out. I don't believe they will keep that fight synched forever. I absolutely think at some point, maybe years, they will make it unsynchable. Maybe i'm wrong. Only time will tell.
