I would like to see the AH from FFXI return but maybe make it so you can't AH stuff like materia. It it isn't broken don't fix it.

Except MW is not a fix for AH. It is a new idea, with various pros of its own - particularly for the seller.
The change we are getting with 1.20 strikes an agreeable balance allowing for an AH-like speedy purchasing experience for the buyer, whilst maintaining the unique flavor the Wards bring. Both parties can be happy with this.
What really needs to be fixed as soon as possible, and was addressed that it would be done by 1.20b if I recall correctly, is the ability to see the quality and melds on items for sale directly through search and even search for specific qualities ourselves.

I agree with op. Just make a simplified AH and be done with it..
Of course its a new idea and its a good one. I remember them saying a long time ago that they would add a AH if the wards didn't work out. Trying to make the two mix isn't a great idea however having both could work out.Except MW is not a fix for AH. It is a new idea, with various pros of its own - particularly for the seller.

Off topic: Do you really want to strike up another debate?
I'm not trying to spark anything lol. Don't take my replying to you personally, I read and reply to many posts.Of course its a new idea and its a good one. As for your point, having both separately would be redundant and not productive in any way. AH is pure seller convenience and thus all people would rather buy from AH - making MW obsolete.
What they have with 1.20 and the surcharge is a very good solution in my opinion. The only downside to a traditional AH from a buyer's perspective is the surcharge - which honestly is a very reasonable addition for the convenience and to keep the actual market wards zoning relevant.
It's a good compromise.
To re-iterate, the real issue that needs fixing here is the detailin which we can search and view search results.
Idk it feels like they sometimes take a dead idea and try to make it work instead of just using something that already works. No one can say for sure if the new patch is a hit or a miss but we'll find out soon. I'm just hoping I can view the history of a item from my retainer that way its easier to sell items. I've been holding off on selling stuff cause its a pain to track down the prices. Would be nice if the search was based on items instead of rows too. I hope that is what they did.I'm not trying to spark anything lol. Don't take my replying to you personally, I read and reply to many posts.

Hehe had fun in our last debate. This time though there isn't much point in it since so much is unknown.
I'm sorry, but I too feel like the comprise of having market wards with direct selling is the way to go. Obviously, there is tweaking to be done, but we can get the best of the two worlds with that compromise.Of course its a new idea and its a good one. LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
They said they were "looking into it..." placing an auction house, but with SE you never know with SE. Wards was a bad idea from a start and is just going to get worse as the game develops and attracts more players and if they merge wards together, god help us entering the wards. Auction House is easier to implement and has the simple function...why would you hire someone to stand in the wards to sell your crap and store it. They as well need to allow us to sell more in bazaar and distance to access it needs to change because currently I have to be on top of the person to see what they have in there.
SE should sticky topics like these because new threads keep getting made and would be a lot easier for them to get information from once place. If they even read threads...and get ideas.![]()
I still stand with my thought on Market Wards. In all honestly I don't believe they can be used as a way of selling things for the whole server economy. I think they would work best for something smaller, maybe something like a Free Company Market where you can offer crafting services and such.
