Buying items through the menu takes too long.

Sitting outside in the fronds, find my item, click to buy it through the menu, wait 15 seconds for it to possibly work, have entire screen of people disappear and be unable to reactivate the menu to repeat the process again for a good 10 seconds.

If you have to buy more then one item from the same retainer you are just better off going into the wards and finding it. Like arrows, food, gear to materia, synth materials. Also if you want a certain level/grade of materia how are you going to tell if this is a tier 5 hp materia that gives 55 hp or 65 hp? How can you tell if any of the gear has materia in it already? There are just so many times you can't just see something and buy it because you have to go and check everything else to make sure there isn't some deal you can see from that menu.

It's a great feature in theory but rather useless right now EXCEPT for the timestamp of items sold which you can gauge how fast items sell. Also why no timestamp for chat yet?....

TL;DR New feature useless, timestamp rocks, better off going into wards and looking yourself.

I don't have to wait quite as long as you, but for me there's a good 5 second pause while my item is being "purchased". I am curious if this is a result of server lag or if this buy-it-now fix has quite a bit of overhead to it. Maybe come 1.20b, they'll speed things up a bit.

  As of patch 1.20, it is not possible to view the quality (HQ/NQ) or materia-related information on the item search results screen. This information will be added sometime after patch 1.20b.
• Direct Name Input
  As of patch 1.20, item names cannot be input directly when conducting a search. The ability to do this will be added in patch 1.21.

It'll be nice when that gets added.

not only does it take to long but you are exited from the menu and if you are making more then one purchase its quit a hassle. Not to mention the purchase fails half the time cause the time was already purchased but the wards didn't update yet. hopefully 2.0 launches without a hitch to correct these things. i have a feeling after 2.0 there will be another year of fixing new found problems though.

It is very slow. Not only that, but as you hit purchase item and are exited from the menu I thought I was disconnecting from the server... Hopefully there is a fix in the works for this glitchy behavior.

The worst part of the current implementation is going through all of the steps, waiting during the 5-15 second freeze, and then getting a message that you couldn't make the purchase. Even though you had the gil. Even though you had inventory space. Even though the retainer still had the item. WTF?
