Arrrgh, now i regret selling some of my Buccaneer gear >.<[*]Also achievements that involve collecting items such as:
Obtain Templar’s Chain Coif, Templar’s Haubergeon, Templar’s Sollerets and Templar’s Tassets will only be completed by speaking to the NPC while all of the items are equipped. Therefore, even if all of the items were obtained in the past, the achievement will not be completed unless the player still has the items in 1.20.
Anywayz, ty for heads up.
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
Thanks for the info Rukkirii!
Though the thing I would like to know is:
Is it more dangerous being a stunt woman or a community rep for FFXIV?
I'd take the latter.
Fantastic!!!Hey gang,
Got some information regarding achievements to share with you all:
By talking to the achievement NPC to first unlock the categories, achievements that have already been completed will become listed as completed. Will I log in after 1.20 and achievements will pop up instantly (earn level 50, defeat 100 enemies, complete this quest storyline, etc.)?
Thanks, Rukkirii!

People are just going to trade the gear around to get the achievement for everyone.. Is that really something you guys think we should be rewarded for? I could understand an achievement like get all 7 Ifrit weapons, or get all of some R/ex set of armor that will be introduced in the future, but doing it with items that you can trade seems kind of pointless.
Very true. I'm sure there will be people retorting, "Who cares, its just an achievement", but lets be honest, exploitable "achievement" is exploitable. Especially when people are getting rewards for these achievements.People are just going to trade the gear around to get the achievement for everyone.. And just when we thought the Dev's were giving us something that wasn't a free hand out like everything else in this game.
I'll use one of your sig quotes to explain this however slightly edited:
"Welcome to 2010/2011 MMORPGs"
In reality, achievements in any MMO is easily exploitable no matter what when you think about it, there's always some way to get around a requirement, it's usually one of the flaws of these kind of achievements which is why some devs tie it to multiple requirements, though that would have just annoyed players (given how people got annoyed by a 5% surcharge..)
So a small handful of achievements are available easily through a loophole. End of the fucking world guys, might as well just shut the server down. The entire achievement system is a complete failure because of this.Very true. Please, give me a break. It's only a couple of current sets and future sets (as was stated above) will probably be U/U anyway so it won't be as easy to get those achievements. They weren't designed as "free handouts". It's rewarding you for having the full set.
We aren't being over dramatic, but you are. The thing about this achievement is just that it is pointless and nothing is being achieved other than going to the Market Wards to buy the sets then trading it around. The rest of the achievement system seems fine.
It's curious to most of us why they would even integrate something like this for these out of date crap sets. If it was linked to the old runestones and we had to trade a runestone and obtain the piece of gear to get marked off for the achievement it would make more sense.
The point I'm trying to make is that in the grand scheme of things, in the entire achievements system, this is kind of small and matters little. A small handful of achievements are obtainable through a loophole. Okay, and? You still have to work for every other achievement in the entire game.We aren't being over dramatic, but you are. The thing about this achievement is just that it is pointless and nothing is being achieved other than going to the Market Wards to buy the sets then trading it around. The rest of the achievement system seems fine.
