This. The fight isn't luck based at all. The only random part is which attacks he is gonna use next because it's exactly like in Monster Hunter.

The key to the fight is to note its pattern down. Once you do it's easy to dodge them, but you need to stay on its flanks, mainly its left wing.

And you get stunned if you take too much damage...just like in MH.

I've done 21 successful runs now. It gets easier, just have to learn the animations he does before an attack. For the most part just try to always be on his left foot and you're safe.

A month or so from now when they add the next set of tome gear, this trial will be a joke to complete.
