That sounds like a net loss.
how do you even arrive at that? from that? Walk me through it, cause as the person who wrote it, I don't see at any point where it says, you stay any in mode longer than usual, especially umbral ice since I specifically said super clearly you still maintain the super mp regen you already get with it.

"Super MP Regen" is about as concrete a number as "A whole bunch of it"

    A) You said "Enochian stops MP Regen but reduces MP Costs by 50%". AKA you stay in Fire longer - Because as it is currently we have -no regen- and 50% reduction on -3- spells. Reducing all MP costs by 50% doubles our active time in AF.
    B) Given that Fire uptime is the most influential increase in Black Mage DPS, it follows that for -any semblance of balance- that your time in UI is increased as well. It's currently something like a 70 / 30 split, where a typical AF phase is around 21 seconds and a typical UI phase is 6-9. So with 50% MP reduction during AF, you'd be looking at something like 35-38 seconds of AF time, and 6-9 of UI if it were kept normal? Yeah no. Logic dictates that either Fire Spells get nerfed or UI duration is increased.
    C) Okay so that doesn't sound like a loss, just the same gain over a longer duration. Except any Encounter worth mentioning doesn't -do- that. You have dummy fights, but then you're effectively -changing nothing-, however, for any fight that isn't a glorified training dummy, spreading out Black Mage's windows hurts. Spreading out -anyone's- windows hurts.

Black Mage might not be the most desirable damage job for a raid optimization team, but it is currently one of the most well oiled jobs out there. This thing flows like melted butter, and it lets a good black mage be -great-, and being great at black mage -feels great-.
