With how cheap some people are apparently, I'm honestly surprised we didn't get people complaining about retainers listing gear with values above 0 at the end to denote materia value or HQ level. All those extra gils going down the drain.
There's already a tax on sellers. When a consumer buy's an item that tax is deducted from the amount of Gil they receive on the retainer. Sellers should not be taxed because a consumer chooses to buy off of a search counter. This is a luxury service, and they needed another Gil sink. The search tax caps at 4k Gil for any item. Though it's still fairly convenient to run to the retainer now that they have indicators. This isn't a huge deal. I'm just glad there is now a price history.
